A couple of weeks ago a handful of protesters were allowed to briefly shut down Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. The local politicians didn’t want to do anything to upset their far left constituency. Now, they want to block a major Expressway (the Kennedy, which goes to O’Hare airport). This time, however, the state police will be in charge. Let’s see how far things get before the crazies in my State get told “no”. Unfortunately, it’ll have to go pretty far…

Anti-violence protesters plan to shut down Kennedy on Labor Day

I live not far from O’hare airport in Chicago. As of this morning, it is raining hard with thunder and a lot of lightning. Those protesters are in for quite a “shock” if they march their sorry asses on the Kennedy today.

“The group is also demanding the resignations of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel…..”

Well at least they have one good idea.

A little backstory: When guys like Jesse Jackson or Father Pfleger march and get “arrested”, the Chicago police drive them over to an office at Cook County Jail for about a half an hour to have some coffee and maybe lunch, and then they let them go on a personal recognizance bond. Their lawyer shows up at court a couple of weeks later to acknowledge that the charges have been dismissed. Nothing happens. What would be incredibly funny however, would be if the STATE police took them instead to the DuPage County Jail, were they would actually get treated like everybody else!

    Anti-Violence Protests?

I thought your wonderful Mayor Rahm Emmanuel (Obama’s Butt Buddy) banned Guns already?

Chicago is a Gun Free Zone right? Surely, Gun Crime is non-existent. Leftist Policies always work. 🙂

What are they complaining about? They have exactly what they voted for…and have voted for…for years.
I don’t understand protesting what you asked for.

I’m pretty sure its Donald Trump that makes their neighborhood a s~~~ty, crime ridden, violent place. Even though it was a s~~~ty, crime ridden, violent place long before he took office, and will be long after, its always the fault of racist white people even when the problem is blacks doing horrible things to each other.

I live an hour west of the City of Chicago, and when I heard this protest was going on, I got upset, because imagine being one of those people trying to get into O’Hare today and miss a flight because of them. They’re just a bunch of angry assholes causing trouble for everyone. Seriously, is there nothing else these people could be doing on a summer holiday besides being a group of protesting jerks, being assholes to everyone around them?

That is the point. The City Council of Chicago could not stop the protest without risking political damage to themselves, so they arranged that the protests would inconvenience outsiders while not effecting Chicago residents.

This has a two part effect. Because the protests did not effect Chicago residents, this would not effect the voting turn out. The second part, because the protest only inconvenienced outsiders, the protesters would not receive any sympathy from outside of Chicago.

Anti-Violence is not taking an offensive or defensive posture, but avoiding confrontation altogether.

So they claim a right that infringes on the rights of others to travel freely and unencumbered.

That is an offensive move and they will try taking a defensive posture on the street and in the courts..

Who is financing this stupid idea?

They deserve the DuPage jail and a harsh $10,000 fine for each person involved..

Charge them with violating the rights of lawful travelers..

Thats the punishment for first time offenders who conspire to steal the rights
of another person..$10,000 and some jail time or both..

I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. Kind mockery at the well intentioned, but unfettered cruelty towards those would be prison guards of my creative possibilities. This so as to learn as much from misunderstanding as from understanding. Taking pleasure in worthy opponents and making language fluid and flowing like a river yet pointed and precise as a dagger. Contradicts the socialistic purpose of language and makes for a wonderful linguistic dance, A verbal martial art with constant parries that hone the weapon that is the two edged sword of my mouth.

Voting is an illusion and that city council picture proves it. The people with money decide who gets to govern you not the voting population.
