The short answer is that some of this is funded by Soros and the like through community activist groups they starts in those countries. Some are funded, generally in indirect ways, by our major religious organizations. And some of this is funded by the US government.

The reason, I believe, is to further erode notions of national and cultural sovereignty and to further push toward world-wide governing institutions.

Yep. Who’s funding this? Five-hundred people aren’t going to march from Central America, through Mexico, and to the US border (where few to none will get through, since it’s such a highly-publicized event) without funding and assistance along the way.
