Finally!
About 11 months ago, I bought a bunch of computer parts on eBay and built a gaming PC. It was a major project buying all the parts, putting it together and spend almost a year selling it and adjusting the price each month.
I had it for $600 (which would be a loss), but someone made an offer of $500 and I took it. I didn’t want $500, but I’m not making anything off it and it’s just sitting there in the spare room all this time. So I just took the offer to get rid of it, and be done with this whole PC/eBay project.
I’m telling you this, there is no way I’m going to do this custom PC project business thing again. I enjoy building computers, but it wasn’t worth losing hundreds of dollars and almost a year of my life over. So not counting shipping and fees, I so far lost $450, which for me is a bit too much, but again I would of lost more if I had refused the offer. I didn’t want to take the offer, but I have to accept that eBay people are such cheap asses who want things on a major deal, which people tend to loss money on.
So the computer is finally sold, and is now awaiting payment from the buyer.
PS: If it’s a losing cause to sell on eBay, then how do people make a profit when most people are looking for major deals that end up losing money? I wouldn’t of done this if I knew I was going to lose big on it; I would of just left my $950 investment alone. Either way, it’s all over now — FINALLY!

Good for you man…sometimes you have to take a lose. Many times I have more into a gun than I sell it for—often I’m lucky to break even. But then there are other times where you score big. Just keep at at—think of it as at-bats in a ball game. You fly-out or ground-out most of the time, but you get singles and doubles and occasionally a home run. Just keep coming up to bat!
That’s a good life-lesson though man – sometimes you go down the wrong road & have to cut your losses. It’s not about “gaining more”, just “limiting what you’ve lost”.
No shame in it; happens to everyone. Just an opportunity to learn & do better in the future.
Good job man.

Selling PC’s is a very competitive business these days. Anyone can do it, since there is very little barrier to entry and it’s almost impossible to screw up a build by being ignorant.
Not like computers of yesteryear, where you actually had to know what you were doing and things were much more involved. Now it practically does everything for you.
I’m considering buying a new 4K UHDTV next month with the money as a way to celebrate finally selling it. I still couldn’t believe it took as much as it did to finally sell it; I was losing faith. So rather than putting the money back in my drawer, I’m considering enjoying it with a new 4K UHDTV, a Sony that’s going for $584 minus $55 I have in on a Best Buy gift card from when I got a refund for a Webroot anti-virus for Christmas.
