Cannot imagine why I could have tennis elbow when I don’t play tennis?
Any hints or tips on how to cure it as this is my wanking arm.

I had it from swinging a hammer, I got nail guns and it went away and never returned. What are doing that’s repetitious? There’s where you’ll find the cause. You’d have jerk it 3 to 5 hours a day to cause it that way! Besides if you did you’d be complaining about bloody dick first!

Stretching can really help as can a special arm band that applies pressure to the forearm. I developed a nasty case of blacksmith’s elbow a while back. Took a long time and a change in my technique to get over it.

OH! I can confirm I have “tennis elbow” but it’s not from waking.

    Promise.

It’s from lifting weights – specifically curls – only when I’m holding a barbell with both hands too close together. If I use free weights , it’s OK. If my arm & movement is not perfectly straight during the motion of curling, it irritates the s~~~ out of my left elbow.

Same thing happens when pressing above my head.
The right shoulder joint rubs, irritates and gets inflamed.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

Lateral Epicondylitis. I got it from scrubbing a stone floor vigorously for too long and it was bad. Mine has been gone for 20 years or more due to the actions of a chiropractor. He used ultrasound to break up the microscopic scar tissue and deep tissue massage to flush it out with the blood supply. The “real” docs all wanted to cut cut cut. You may need surgery in some cases but I would make damn sure before I got it. Mine was real bad, it hurt to shake hands. Now I avoid bowling or frisbee or anything that makes my elbow snap and I get to do everything else. I also bought a hand held ultrasound unit for when I do irritate it. About a hundred bucks and it works. Use it right if you do. Follow the instructions.

Update: Ha, it was my wanking hand too. Not being ambidextrous has it’s drawbacks for sure, and this is at the top of the list. Be careful, now that I am remembering, wanking irritated the epicondyle really bad. You can find it by putting your fingers of one hand on the elbow of the other and feeling for that small area that wiggles when you move your fingers. That is the epicondyle, mine is about the size of a dime. Where the tendons that move your fingers all attach. A lot of stress gets concentrated in a small area, and when it becomes irritated it is epicondylitis. Low blood flow to “yellow” tissue makes for a slow heal time. Deep tissue massage forces blood through the area. Ultrasound breaks up the microscopic tears, tiny scars. Good luck. I know it sucks and can be persistent.

You actually have to strengthen the tendon to heal it and not to have the problem return. Get a Flexbar. It worked for me. Ice it in the meantime.

    Peace is > piece.

    hand held ultrasound

I use a doubled over gold resistance band to keep myself looking like a man but haven’t been using it since my elbow flared up.
It probably happened because I had taken a couple of weeks off work during which I did lots of house work and rebuilt a BSA engine.
So if I use my Theraband and even though it hurts, are you saying this will make it better?

That sounds like a good idea, so a cheap one worked for you?, I dont need one as expensive as this? :- https://www.physique.co.uk/Electrotherapy/Ultrasound-Electrotherapy/Intelect-1-3MHz-Ultrasound-Unit?gclid=CIy_ppq4p9ICFYXGGwodqUEAUQ#fo_c=1025&fo_k=6a8507eeba59e867149745e218310572&fo_s=gplauk

I second this. get a flexbar, search youtube for video on simple way to use it.

Leaning on your elbow (while working on computer) can give you the same symptoms – even cause the lower part of your hand (pinkie and ring finger) to have numbness.

I used an improper grip on my rowing machine (Thumb should go over top with other fingers, not underneath) and got tennis elbow as well.

Lots of causes, but flexbar addresses the problem nicely over time, and is pretty cheap.

Bought myself an ultrasound, though haven’t used it yet as this model didn’t come with gel, unlike the cheaper models.,
