So, back when the original Youtube video blew up I watched it several times. Beyond that it was just something that kind of faded away from memory. Mr. Viking is at a counter protest and regulates one of his drugged out buddies who was getting a little sloppy in a dance circle. Hey, cool video, he seems badass, and can dance like a motherf~~~er. Welp, last night I finally watched this documentary-

And there is so much more to the story than I had previously known, and it is interesting. Mr. Viking basically fled from public view as his likeness was being used to make money. He wanted it to all go away. Fame? Fortune? Not for this man, he didn’t want it and sued.

Anyhow, beyond this documentary I know very little. I can’t even remember what the protest and counter protest was about, seemed Left vs. Right wing though, and it is of no concern to me. What I want to know is if any of you know more about this story or remember this when it blew up a few years back, and what your thoughts are on all of it. I am somewhat torn and understand both sides presented in the documentary in regards to the legal ramifications of it all…

Then there is s~~~ like this, clearly not the same guy. Mr. Viking’s nose and ears to begin with are different than this asshole.

    film review.
    although previously unaware of “technoviking”,
    an enjoyable and compelling film.
    from start to finish,
one is made aware of legal ramifications…
    whether artistic or commercial,
these consequences to actions will be haunting.
    .
worth the almost hour of time,
    sadly,
the artist is trying to make some money..
he seems to actually need it,
and “technoviking ” seems not to have needed the money,
or, was the money WORTH it to the man …
    fame is sometimes a misfortune..
not worth the money that follows it..
    .
    thanks again Joe .
you helped to open my eyes a bit more tonight.
    your friend,
    Hitman…

Thanks Hitman. Yea it is an interesting thing all around in where I understand the points made by all sides. It is a new age we have entered into for sure with new problems to be solved. Yea, the kid who filmed the original video is the one who made this documentary. He was sued by Techno Viking and lost it all, which was not much. Will I be sending him money? No. lol But that does not discredit what he has accomplished here, and did a fine job of conveying his point. I think he did get this produced due to crowd funding. Either way, he did a great job.

It is also interesting to note that the only person that is mentioned in a joking way on the internet as being tougher than Chuck Norris with any consistency it is Techno Viking. When you are known online as the only guy who can kick Chuck’s ass you have accomplished something.

I also really like one of the last comments by the Latin lady at about 44:26. She talks about how we need something beyond Capitalism with shared property rights to some level in this new paradigm of things morphing over time online because it is dynamic and shared creation at some point.

I always loved the original and edited (captioned) versions, and Technoviking will always remain a Legend, a Symbol for me, an Idea.

Maybe the guy who became the legend dislikes it, but his deed and dance at that moment became legendary, a technoviking character was created and touched, inspired millions …to dance, have fun and please the gods with rhythmic dancing.
PS. don’t forget to stay hydrated.

I wonder what he’s up to now. Is he still ripped and dancing? Haha. Always thought the song he danced to was cool ,those great bass drum thumps that sounded cool due to the s~~~ty camera mic recording it.
