In most states you are liable for helping some one commit suicide.Even if its by just saying go on and do it. Will female jurors hold her accountable…i doubt it. Depresion is a very serrious thing. I see peoole on here that are depressed. If you say go ahead and do it,you can be held accountable. Young folks should never suicide out. Good things can be waiting for you down the road. Her legal team has worked miracles cleaning her up for trial too. The case has been crawling through the legal system for over a year now. Believe me, in the beginning Ms. Carter’s photos and behavior were much less sympathetic.

She displayed little but disdain and disbelief during the first hearing. The photos of her then might as well have been peering into her soul because they showed nothing but a spoiled little girl making faces at the “nasty” people “accusing” her. Her comments on her various social media accounts expressed more of the same.

Somehow or another, the lawyers her parents hired got it into Ms. Carter’s bulbous little head that she needs to act more demurely, needs to stay off social media, and generally needs to walk small until the nastiness is over.

She’s going to get off, but the internet has a long memory. She’s going to be regularly trolled and reminded of her callousness. Heaven help the poor blue pill simp who marries her.

Edit: IIRC, she milked as much attention as possible from being Roy’s “girlfriend” after his suicide. Of course now she claims they really weren’t boyfriend and girlfriend. As we all know, very few women will pass up free attention, but it makes me wonder if she wasn’t aware of just how much attention a boyfriend’s suicide would give her?

I actually was messaging one of the few female friends I have the other day while I was feeling very depressive, nearly suicidal. Was hoping to have her say “you’re worth it.” Not because I wanted a woman’s validation, but just wanted some positivity from SOMEONE while I was in this depressive state. When one is suicidal like myself (which is often), sometimes we get stupid and make poor judgment calls like this.

This wench decided to ENCOURAGE my suicide by telling me how to do it.

“Don’t starve yourself, that’s stupid. Would take at least a month. Get a knife and cut down your arm. Drink heavily if you want to, it numbs the pain.”

Might be going against the grain here but I really take issue with the notion of someone being held liable for another persons suicide. This really shouldn’t be a criminal case, what she did was without question disagreeable but this opens the door for some really s~~~ty cases.

I have concerns with both the case and any potential precedents too, Atton.

Carter is being charged with involuntary manslaughter. It’s the lowest tier of “murder” charges, meaning the death has to be the result of certain recklessness, criminal negligence, or while committing a misdemeanor or low level felony. It’s normally used for cases involving drunk drivers who kill, people who supply drugs used in fatal overdoses, abusive parents/guardians, and the like.

I can’t quite see why involuntary manslaughter been applied here. Massachusetts doesn’t have a statute specifically addressing assisted suicide and Carter’s actions didn’t match up with the reckless endangerment statute either, so maybe this was the best of several bad fits available to the DA?

Carter’s lawyers are typical of the breed and they’re arguing a few different excuses. First, they’re freely admitting their client is a piece of s~~~. Next, they’re playing the juvenile angle as Carter was “only” 17 when she spent months sending texts suggesting Roy kill himself and talked him back into the truck. Finally, they’re arguing her texts are protected by the First Amendment.

I find the last two deliciously ironic. Once again, a female is arguing she shouldn’t be held responsible for her actions. Even better, feminists routinely argue that the 1st Amendment should be gutted to combat “hate” speech and here’s a little c~~~ defending her months of “kill urself” messages as free speech. Hypocrisy, thy name is woman.

It’s the scope and length of Carter’s action which are appalling and which also make this case unique. She spent months promoting the idea of suicide to him, sending thousands of messages. Even more sickening, after telling him to get back in the truck and finish the job, she then played innocent in texts to Roy’s relatives asking where he was.

While she truly is a monstrous person, I don’t believe she’s legally culpable in this case. I think that, when faced with such a heinous act and with no other recourse, the prosecutors – who have to answer to voters in Massachusetts – chose to charge the little bitch with involuntary manslaughter.

Carter will get off legally, but she’s basically ruined her life. People will not forget this.
