Not sure how the videos tie in with the subject?

As regards taking things for granted, I found the following video of Groovy Hippies in 68 Paris, havin’ fun.

I guess they thought they were changing the world for the better and took it for granted that their utopia was just around the corner. Unfortunately all they herarlded was the begining of western society’s eventual demise.

    Good music though 🙂

And the women look like women not freaks!

All good mate and thank you!!

I guess almost every man here wanted to change the world at one time – before realising it was far better to just walk away….

What can you do with a rotten apple but throw it away?
What can you do with a bad hand but fold?

As far as taking anything for granted, let’s start with the very air our lungs take in. Even that isn’t guaranteed to us and our next gulp of oxygen may be our last.

One day when I was but a small boy, going out of the train station with my father, I saw a man, must’ve been in his 30’s. He coughed twice, leaned against a car for a second and dropped dead right there and then.
My father knew him and said he didn’t have any known condition that would’ve made him collapse as he did.
    I’ll never forget it.

Life isn’t due to us, it is on loan from On High and can be taken away at any time.

Don't let them Blame, Shame or Tame you!
Give 'em NOTHING, not even an answer!

Yes – we all live on borrowed time. Nothing is certain. For what I have now I am grateful.

I think of the lyrics of this song a lot when times seem hard.

    You think it’s bad now?

Don’t you know that these are the best days of our lives 🙂

I’m grateful for waking up in the morning everyday.

We worry about a lot of s~~~ and sweat the small stuff expecting to do this or that, buy and have this or that and we tell ourselves, out of pure vanity, that our destiny is in our hands, HA!
Look at the universe and how well it’s made! We’re like grains of sand on a beach, pushed this way and that by the whims of the tides.

We pretend to rule over our lives while we don’t even rule over our colon and bladder!

I watched a video interview of John Goodman as to why he spent so much effort getting high on coke and falling into alcoholism. His answer was that he was ungrateful. He took himself for granted.
That answered a lot of questions about my own behavior and was turning point for me. You can hate and self-loath yourself on one end of the spectrum, or take yourself for granted as someone that doesn’t matter on the other end. Both are destructive.

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.

A lot of wisdom here. Peace.
