The difference between a well established millionare (IE Sean Penn) and the average man walking away from a relationship/marriage is that Sean Penn walks away still being a millionaire. His standard of living doesn’t change. It’s all just an accounting entry. He will still have millions, and continue to make millions.

The worse case scenario in his “cleanout” would be something like he’s only worth 15 million instead of 30 million. I don’t consider this being “cleaned out”. It’s like when Mel Gibson got divorcred and was left with “only” 50 or 100 million dollars or whatever obscene amount of cash. No tears shed. Really, boo hoo for Sean Penn, Mel Gibson and the like. They will NEVER be forced to staying in a marital relationship because they can’t afford to leave. They have COMPLETE FREEDOM. They are not going to be living in the Hotel Buick, or trying to evade imprisonment if he can’t make any potential child care payments. It’s ALL just play time when you’re a famous multi-millionaire. That’s the only time when men can be foolish enough to play the “LOVE” game. The consequences do NOT destroy his financial freedom.

Ideally, he also won’t get cleaned out as long as he doesn’t marry her. It says that she’s still only his girlfriend at the moment. That doesn’t mean that she won’t try, but he should be okay as long as he doesn’t sign anything. I know that Canada had some kind of policy about supporting an ex-spouse even if you didn’t marry them, but that’s not happening in the States yet, is it?

My only respect for this nutjob is the fact that he learned from his marriage mistake. He could have a different girl each time he goes out to a fancy dinner, he’s smart enough to not endanger his life’s work. She’s a short term goal. Check back in six months-one year, she’ll be history.

She’s being faithful until the knot is tied…then it becomes a waiting game of how long she can keep her mask on and fool the guy.

In California…IF the marriage is 10 years or more she is entitled to ask for lifetime Alimony. IF she files for divorce in another state and is a resident there…and that state is Florida the marriage doesn’t need to last as long for lifetime Alimony.

IF she has children…she can get her child support payments heavily skewed…Child Support money is TAX free (Penn would be paying taxes on it) and there is NO oversight on how Child “Support” money is spent.

The more time goes by in a marriage the more community assets will increase and the bigger the payout.

Johnny Depp married a girl who was a complete idiot (and this is relatively speaking compared to most women: who aren’t very high on the intelligence totem pole to begin with).

Ditto for Mel Gibson’s ex-girlfriend…who was more greedy than patient. However Mel’s girlfriend had a baby and got child support…Depp’s wife didn’t and frankly was more interested in other girls than Depp.

Hollywood marriage I tend to give from several months to 2 years.
