The execution was amusing, but tactically flawed. He really should have gotten her stuff completely out of his house and not let her back into it.

Here’s a good method: Take her to a nice restaurant. Give her an engagement ring box, wrapped up in pretty paper, containing the key to the storage locker where you put all her stuff. When she asks what it’s all about, hand her a card explaining the situation. Then walk out, handing the maître d’ enough to cover your own meal on the way. No f~~~s given.

LOL, when my ex left me for a girl in 2012 and confirmed that she was going to move in with her eventually and asked me to keep her stuff stored at my place in my closet, I did something similar.  I piled her and her children’s clothes and items on a table in my living room, sent a picture of it to her phone, and said “come and get it.”  I was actually being nice, though she was throwing a tantrum about it all and called me “dramatic” for doing so.  I look back on it now and think I was pretty hilarious, as blue pill as I was at the time otherwise.
