I find that account of what happened very hard to believe

It’s hard to say really, although what I can add is that over here in Europe we really are seeing the results of an inverted population pyramid, whereby a huge mass of elderly people outnumber younger people.
I’ve actually witnessed three counts of this very same thing happening in the UK in recent years. First one involved elderly lady who drove into a bus stop…only one person was hurt. I had to wait around until ambulance turned up. Second time was in supermarket car park…elderly man stuck car into reverse and smashed into a shopping trolley shelter. Luckily nobody hurt. Third time was a couple of months ago, and I just missed what had happened by around a minute. Elderly lady hit the wrong control and went flying into a neighbouring property, running over an old man in his garden. Sadly he died at the scene. I found out later in court that elderly lady lost her licence…for a YEAR. What a joke.
