The Supreme Court ruled Wednesday that government workers can’t be forced to contribute to labor unions that represent them in collective bargaining, dealing a serious financial blow to organized labor.
The court’s conservative majority scrapped a 41-year-old decision that had allowed states to require that public employees pay some fees to unions that represent them, even if the workers choose not to join.
The 5-4 decision fulfills a longtime wish of conservatives to get rid of the so-called fair share fees that non-members pay to unions in roughly two dozen states. Organized labor is a key Democratic constituency.
————-This will be a factor in 2020. Public sector unions, but I suspect sooner or later the legal will be brought up on other unions.

Lots of 5-4 decisions recently. Hmmmm.
Another win for America. Thank you SCOTUS!

This is why everyone of us should vote. A single vote changes everything. Do not elect people that support Trump we have lost it all.

I love how the dissent opinion claims that the non-member fees were not used for the union’s political or ideological activities. Basically, the same argument used to defend government financing of Planned Parenthood.
Why does the left continue to believe that the right can’t, and anyone with a brain really, can’t see right through that argument?
Ok. Then do it.
Pass the popcorn. This is getting interesting.

Speak for yourself! My voting rights and enfranchisement are lawfully held under CEASE AND DESIST according to law.
Voting is a reckless corporate criminal act that places me in jeopardy
of fines and incarceration, and contributes to the criminal reckless endangerment of United States citizens. We live in different worlds my friend, I’ve been isolated and segregated to underverse…

Anonymous12I joined by union twice. The first time they never sent anything to me for 14 months and then tried to tell me I owed them $800 in back dues. I told them I thought I wasn’t a member as they never sent me anything.
The second time I was having pay issues and the union rep told me that he had other things to worry about.
My union is as weak as p~~~ and I am not a member. I cringe that they represent me anyway and bargain for me.

I may start a thread on this if there isn’t one already, Justice Kennedy has announced his retirement.
Trump will get another shot at this and leftards are losing their s~~~ over it. HaHa!

Hell yes! If only Ginsburg would croke.

My union siphoned all my retirement money into a pension that was grossly underfunded and declining yearly, and relieved me of 800 dollars per year in out of my pay for “union dues” and “admin fees.” I never was really anti private sector union until I left that job and realized how bad I got screwed. During the 13 years I spent in the union I could have probably had a couple hundred thousand in a 401k…instead I have a promise of a pension for time served that will be broke long before I retire. I’ll get pennies on the dollar from the PBGC if I’m lucky…but that is probably going to go broke too lol.
Public sector unions though…they should straight up be abolished. Members work for the f~~~ing government…they don’t work for a 1950s warehouse owner who will treat them like s~~~ and replace them with anyone willing to work for less. Non union government jobs still get decent pay, benefits, and insurance, and if they have s~~~ty working conditions that is what OSHA is for. There is just no need for them…and really all they amount to these days is a voting cartel that funnels money to the democrats in exchange for democrats funneling money to them and allowing them to legally hold workers hostage to keep the scam going.
Ultimately if union dues were 100% optional, all the unions have to do is demonstrate they still provide some benefit for members and people will want to join. If they need to fight so hard to take that choice away from people…all that tells me is that many unions are worthless and know it.
