Hi everyone. Am I the only person here who loves mythology?
In this thread, we talk about the stuff we have learned from mythology.Stuff I Learned From Mythology
– The Hercules movie that Disney made in 1997 was all wrong. The real Hades wasn’t evil. Why does Hercules use his Roman name? Everyone else uses their Greek name. The real Zeus and Hera were assholes. The real Hercules (who was Heracles in Greek) was the offspring of Zeus and some mortal chick.
– Nearly every polytheistic religion has a sky god and and earth goddess. Why? It’s because men are above women. Geddit? I don’t hate women. I just think that men are better.
– Nearly every polytheistic religion has a sun god and a moon goddess. This is because the sun is a provider. The sun gives us nourishment. This makes the sun manly. The moon is female because it has a monthly cycle.
– Nearly every culture has a Hero’s Journey. The hero is almost always male. This lends weight to the idea that the Hero’s Journey is pre-programmed into every male brain.
– The idea that God is loving is actually a pretty recent idea. The gods of the old religions weren’t loving.
– In nearly every polytheistic religion, there is a world tree. Greek mythology is an exception. In Greek mythology, Mount Olympus fills this role instead.
– Many old polytheistic religions have a story about a female goddess being sliced open by male gods. The male gods then rule over her. Many feminist historians have suggested that early religions were matriarchal religions that got replaced by patriarchal faiths. Other historians have suggested that society changed dramatically when the link between sex and pregnancy was discovered.
– Most of the ancient Greek heroes were total red pill alphas. In other words, they were dicks. In ancient Greece, an “anti-hero” was a hero who lacked confidence. This is because the defining trait of an Ancient Greek hero was not morality. It was confidence.
– Boys and men have always loved giant, reptilian monsters. What else is new?
– The Ancient Greeks were some of the biggest patriarchs in the ancient world. They were arguably even more patriarchal than Medieval Europeans.
– In Valhalla (Viking Heaven) there is a goat that makes beer in its t~~~. F~~~ing. Beer. T~~~.
– The ancient Egyptian god Atum created the universe by masturbating. To commemorate this, ancient Egyptian pharaohs would frequently masturbate into the Nile.

HIStory must be told..
the P.C. police want to make it HERstory..
fair is fair,
but the truth is the truth !!!
cool topic !
keep them coming brother ………
always looking to learn..Most of the gods in the Greek pantheon were a bunch of assholes.
In the Disney version of Hercules, baby Hercules is the legit child of Zeus and Hera. Pain and Panic give him a magic potion and this makes him almost mortal.
The actual Greek myth is completely different. In the myth, Heracles is the illegitimate child of Zeus and Alcmene.
Remember those snakes that were sent to kill baby Heracles? In the original myth, they were sent by Hera. She was trying to kill Heracles because he was the product of an affair. That’s what generally happened to illegitimate kids back then. That’s why “bastard” is an insult today.
The other gods were assholes too. Circe captured Odysseus and raped him several times. Some people say that Odysseus enjoyed it but I disagree. I think that Odysseus probably wanted to get back home to his wife Penelope. She was a much better woman. He also undoubtedly wanted to see his son Telemachus again.
Then there’s Aphrodite. In ancient Greece, women never said “I am more beautiful than Aphrodite.” because they thought Aphrodite would get them. Aphrodite was insecure a f~~~.
One of the least evil gods was, ironically, Hades.

Yup chilling in the underworld, with the ATM of Erebus.
Always have money to pay the ferry man, Charon. Impossible if you’ve got a chick taking all of your dough.
No wife, good after life.
I failed to realize in my youth that I was the prize. I was going to work. I was going to earn. Little did I realize that due to feminism, that no longer meant I had to share. Road soon, Desert after.
Lots of people think that Hades was a rapist but this is just a misunderstanding. The word “rape” used to mean “kidnap”. This is why myth historians something talk about the “Rape of Persephone”.
There were no healthy couples in the Greek pantheon. They all fought and cheated on each other constantly. In Greek mythology, the closest thing to a healthy marriage was the marriage of Hades and Persephone. This was mainly because Hades and Persephone weren’t as nasty as the other gods.
