So, Christmas for me has never been great. My parents divorced when I was 8 and my childhood was hell. I’m grown up now, going my own way.
I visited my moms for Christmas and she started her manipulation game as soon as we met. Now, she’s a kind mother and I love her, but she can be a true c~~~ at times.
She wanted me to help her around the house instantly when I got in the door, do chores, fix a door (wtf?) etc.
I told her no. I won’t do that. She has more time, money and resources than me, so f~~~ no! Rent a maid or something – you work full-time as a teacher (with TONS of free time), live in a paid for huge condo! F~~~ that – rent your own maid!
She started crying, being all “We’re family. I can’t believe you won’t help me…”, taking on the my-husband-left-me-feel-sorry-for-me-son role as always.

I’ve been blue-pill all my life until a couple of years ago, doing anything for the women in my life, especially my mom and sister. Not anymore, though.
For the first time in my life, I looked her in her tear-filled eyes, and said “Shut the f~~~ up and stop crying. I owe you nothing!”

Let’s just say she stopped crying.

Now, I’m not going to cut my family out of my life. I like them, when they’re not playing games. But they will have to get used to me being a MGTOW and not being a bitch anymore like my big bro and dad.

Pretty weird post, I know, but I’ve always been weak to manipulation and tears in the past, always giving in when the girls started crying. It felt really great to see through it all today and make her understand that I won’t be talked to like a bitch anymore.
Let them cry, let them try to get to me. I won’t bite anymore!

Thank feminism for the 50 year incubation that destroyed chivalry and any guilt that women need help for anything.

I have no problem doing stuff for my mother, but it’s a different situation really. She’s in her 70s with an artificial knee and some things are really difficult her. She is rather appreciative and doesn’t really take an attitude that I own her. At the same time, she will gladly help me out if I needed a favor. I do not feel taken advantage of in the slightest.

My father has passed, but it really was the same situation with him.
