Chivalry has nothing to do with opening doors for women.

Commandments of chivalry are:

1 & 2 – The Church and religion was pretty much wiped out during the social revolutions of the 50’s and 60’s.

3. Respect all weaknesses? This would refer to women who are now our equals, see social revolutions of the 50’s and 60’s.

There is some MGTOW video I was watching long ago, where I heard that “being a gentleman” and “chivalry” were always used in context of how honorable men behaved and interacted among themselves, and not with women; and that since then the meaning has been dramatically altered.
Not sure if it’s true or not, but made a perfect sense to me

It is very true. Chivalry came about in the 10th Century in Europe, it was created by Knights and only applied among Knights who were basically the upper classes of the time, it also only applied to Christian Knights. So it was very exclusive. During the Battle of Agincourt in the 14th century the English Knights refused to kill some French prisoners due to the code of Chivalry which prevented them from killing unarmed Christian men. Luckily for the English they had their archers who were made up of the middle class and had no such belief system, the archers slaughtered the French prisoners without a problem.

People always confuse that “Courtly Love” crap for Chivalry.

Chivalry is about men, and only men. Chivalry has almost nothing to do with women, and the bits that it does, women wouldn’t like. According to Chretien de Troyes:

“If a damsel is accompanied by another knight, and if it pleased him to give combat to that knight and win the lady by arms, then he might do his will with her just as he pleased, and no shame or blame whatsoever would attach to him.”

So the next time someone tells you you should give your seat to a woman or open a door for her or whatever, ask them if you’re also allowed to rape her after beating the s~~~ out of her boyfriend. It’s the chivalrous thing to do.
