One of the best things about being a man going my own way is the ability to live like a spartan. Some might like to call it cheap bastard living. I eat well, but I cook all my own meals. I dress well, but I only have one pair of jeans. I have hobbies, but they consist of self-improvement and increasing my skills, not buying s~~~ I don’t need.
I just moved into a small room. I live with two other room mates, but we only share the kitchen / bathroom, our rooms are private. It’s a great location, and the three of us don’t mind helping each other to get away with much cheaper rent.
I’m 27, so I get s~~~ for this living situation by family and friends from time to time.
(cue nagging, bitchy voice)
“Why don’t you buy your own place?”
“Why do you waste all your money on rent when you can just buy your own place?”.Well, bitches, I pay 300 US$ a month (in Norway that is F~~~ING CHEAP!) everything included and as a result save and invest 70%+ of my income. Every month. I’ll be grinding it out like this for another 4-5 years. Then I take off. Either into the deepest north of Norway. Or I go east to Asia. I’ll be free, but ONLY because of my spartan lifestyle now. I make sacrifices now so that I can have more options and freedom later!
But family, bitches and “friends” don’t see that. They just see a 27 year old “poor guy” living in a dirty room (it’s clean AF, but whatever…) with no car and no girlfriend. Good thing I learned something from the lion of MGTOW some time ago when dealing with such people – Wall of Silence™ bitches! F~~~ off, and enjoy your over-weight, 50+years-in-a-job-you-hate, miserable-marriage life!
(And the cool thing is – I actually like the spartan lifestyle a lot. You get more creative. Learn s~~~. Enjoy the small joys in life, like a warm shower or well-made oatmeal with raisins!)

Anonymous42Everyone loves a spartan, we’re nasty little pricks that don’t take s~~~ anyone!

Anonymous13Less is more. Too many people live big ass lifestyles. If or when the money stops it’s game over.
Live simply, healthily, and save your money. That will give you well being and a future.
Also with money saved you can weather any future storms.I just wish I could go back to 27 and live like this. I’d be able to retire shortly instead of working until I die.
I rent a room because I want to be close enough to my workplace to cycle there.
I did that with 2 job already. If you buy a house to stay you are stuck with it and have to have a car. Depreciation in the value of the car and maintenance offset whatever saving in rent.
I buy houses for investment and rental purpose, buying a house to live have high hidden cost.
There is no magic in MGTOW, just recognition of the truth and logical decision how to avoid dangers. The red pill is but the truth, it is no magical potion. Do not think in this modern world men have no longer have natural enemies, men are prey to women and government.

It doesn’t matter, many men that “did the right thing” they had their productivity swindled out from under them through fiat money and debt enslavement, the family unit headed by the man paid of the mortgage and had savings, now with the dissolved family and longevity of staying together the home is usually mortgaged to the hilt with secondary loans upon loans.
Most households in America when the man was the head of the household (holding it together) had silverware, silver candle holders, even silver money in their pockets, all swindled away with their rightful place in society by the infiltration of women into the workplace and government, they combined their numbers in political and legal efforts to completely alter the paradigm 100% in their favor, leaving us the only logical choice and that’s to tell them to shove it up their asses and walk the f~~~ away!Life is much better for your spirit when you take extreme measures to counterbalance extreme times, GYOW!

Anonymous42woops…
No F~~~s Given for THEIR opinions of YOUR life !!
Most Men NEED little, and even WANT less !!
Women have all types of “needs”, and never ending “wants” !!
In a World of Justin Beibers Be a Johnny Cash
Good point brother !! I’m doing the same, working 80-90 hours week to save some money and be free.
People usually keep running in circles, pay debts, get debts because have to buy something bigger, and keep doing that until they die.Life is more than that, MGTOW is the way !

But family, bitches and “friends” don’t see that. One thing that has given me Great comfort over the years was coming to the realization that family and friends(official friends not true friends) will. Never. Be. Satisfied.
They have a never ending scroll checklist in their back pockets and
No. Matter. What. You. Effing. do.
That THEY want, they will ALWAYS advance to the next item.It would be hilarious to have many realities to control (like “groundhog day”) and to choose to do exactly what they want you to do, in sequence:
“You’re right” move into expensive place, build up debt. “OK I’ll ask her out”
“No we’re not engaged so I’ll ask her to marry me tonight.”
“Yes of course it will be a nice wedding – more debt.
“It’s too early, no you’re right, let’s have four kids in a row, along with the three you have from three other guys, but I was told to date you.
“No, if you’re not happy, I understand that you had to file for divorce.”
“Of course you should now move away with the kids.”

BANG!MGTOW is all about a male’s sovereignty over his own life.
Now let’s explore the MGTOW version of reality!"It seems like there's times a body gets struck down so low, there ain't a power on earth that can ever bring him up again. Seems like something inside dies so he don't even want to get up again. But he does."
Great stuff, guys!
A lot of truth and wisdom in these comments. Keep on going your OWN ways, brothers!! A life of freedom awaits!Men never need stuff – that’s all female s~~~.
A man lives clean and where and how he wants.
You go bro’Well, bitches, I pay 300 US$ a month (in Norway that is F~~~ING CHEAP!) everything included and as a result save and invest 70%+ of my income. Every month. I’ll be grinding it out like this for another 4-5 years. Then I take off.
Sad thing is then they’ll just see you as an irresponsible lazy mooch and most people are totally oblivious given what you are doing you’ll probably be pulling a yearly amount in investment income higher than the average income for a working person before you are 40. If you’ll excuse me now…I have to go work another shift clocking 70+ hours this week because I intend to do pretty much the same thing as you lol…f~~~ everyone else and their ideas of how you should live your life…how many of those people give a f~~~ when you tell them how you think they should live?
Great stuff, Beer! Keep doing what you do!

Anonymous1I’m 26 and only just realising how the world works. I earn decent money so I thought I would cruise along on this income and not worry about too much.
Then I realised that I don’t want to be a wage slave until I’m 70, and I need to start learning about money.
Now, I have a grasp on accounting and financial statements and I’m learning about stocks and real estate etc. but I just feel like I’m so far away from being able to start putting my money into that stuff! the old poker “if you’re 30 mins into a game and don’t know who the patsy is, you’re the patsy” phrase sticks in my mind. What sort of things are you guys investing in to escape the rat race? My rough plan currently is to develop apps with a friend in my spare time to get some bonus income, and save my money until i know what to do with it!
I would start here bro:
http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/I love that blog. Lots of great info on investing, frugal living, DIY, etc!

Anonymous1thanks i’ll check it out!

You are 26…I know people that don’t figure it out until they’re well into their 60s and realize they pretty much have to work til they can’t anymore and their “retirement” is going to suck b~~~~ because they haven’t saved a dime their entire life. The fact that you realize how the game works at 26 puts you miles ahead of the average person.

this is slightly more reassuring! thanks

100% agree with both of you.
If I can add, don’t accept society/the state/cultural conventions. Challenge everything. Asking ‘why ?’ is a great start. ‘Why should I in-debt myself with a mortgage, car loan, wedding, diamond rings etc ?’. ‘Why do I need to get married (when so many end in divorce, initiated by the woman, and have my assets stripped off me)?’
I don’t see what the issue is if kids stay with parent’s to avoid debt, provide they contribute financially and help out. I don’t see a problem in someone house sharing to save money on rent. I don’t see a problem with someone working long hours in his early career to save more money now (‘make hay while the sun shines’ is the motto). I don’t see a problem in someone living in a caravan, tent, motor-home, wooden shack or simple prefab building if it meets their needs and helps them save money they earn. This applies to men or women.
Its your life, your right, and if others can’t accept that, that’s not your problem, that’s their lack of respect for you and ignorance of the bigger picture.

I went out to dinner last night with a female friend I’ve known for a long time. She’s a bit older than me…more of a motherly figure than anything, no romantic interests either way…which is probably why we get along well as friends lol. Anyway…she said “You need to buy a house, when are you going to?” I just said “In this state…never.” I just told her how its f~~~ing robbery here…I could move down south or out west and a nicer house on a bigger piece of land would cost me less to buy and I’d pay less in taxes…or that if the market treats me well for a few more years I might just retire and move out of the country and go live on the beach in South America or Asia.
She kind of smiled at first, thinking I was just running my mouth, and she said “But where would you move to?” I promptly rattled off a few states I could transfer in my company and move to, as well as a couple countries I wouldn’t mind moving to. She realized I was serious, paused for a moment, then just said “Well make sure you have an extra bedroom so I can come visit you on vacation when your living on the beach.”
It was an interesting conversation…it pretty much went from “When are you going to follow the pre-determined life path everyone follows” to her processing I wasn’t kidding and intended to do things my own way…f~~~ what society wants of me. It just seems like most people never even think to question the programming, and when you do, a lot of them want to jump on you for it like you are doing something wrong. The amount of times I’ve mentioned to someone I plan on retiring early and moving abroad and had them actually take it seriously almost never happens…they usually just laugh like I’m kidding around because they’re living the debt slave lifestyle and either honestly don’t see there is other options in life, or are dug so deep in with no easy way out they just want to act like they’re doing it right and not me because its hard for people to admit they f~~~ed up.
