OK last weeks offering was very intense, dark and long…for those of you who don’t know the silent movie Nosferatu was shown in the 20s and Reubke’s work was chosen as the accompaniment in the theater–so it is a bit much in terms of “Gothic”.
Well today is St. Patrick’s day so we will get down with something bright and cheerful (and shorter) the Sinfonia from cantata 29 “We Thank thee God, We Thank Thee”.
Begins at about 1:00 if you don’t want to listen to Diana Bish talk for a minute.
Wow! That organ is better than a Hammond B-3! Keith Emerson from ELP could do amazing things on that baby(I mean the organ, not the girl)!
"Don't follow in my footsteps...I stepped in something."
It was built by the Ruffatti company. (Coral Ridge Presbyterian) They also built the concert hall instrument at Davies Symphony hall in San Francisco—yes its a tab more than a hammond.
Thanks Pete. I didn’t notice on the other videos but on this organ, is there like a full keyboard in front of her feet, with the “lower keys” extending beneath her seat?

Sorry Blade—I looked and Looked and I can’t find it. Every version I saw begins with the guitar solo!
For BJS:
Yes the 32 note pedal board is a separate pipe division usually but not always with the larger bass stops. I once saw Cameron Carpenter play one of the Bach cello concertos with only his feet on the pedal board…pretty amazing: OK I found it! Just for yo man!
