Here is what is going on and what will likely happen.

There is a unofficial boycott of Star Wars from those as Lucas Film for insulting the core fan base for a year and half, with the peak of insults having them falsely accuse the fans of being bigots for not likely The Last Jedi, which was a horrible film for several reasons.

By most accounts, Ron Howard was able to pulled off a miracle and make Solo a watchable film, but only passably watchable. Think around the level of a mid-quality B Movie.

Still, the audience is not going to watch the Solo film as long as those that insulted them are still in charge of Lucas Film.

Those as Lucas Film will likely double-down and accuse that the Solo film failed because a white man was the lead character and they will demand full SJW in SW films from now on.

This will actually hasten the SW IP crashing because no one is going to go see SJW films, not even SJWs.

Unfortunately, Disney never sells anything and after those as Lucas Film bury the SW IP, Disney will basic shelf Star Wars for later, with nothing happening. But, at this point, I would rather have nothing done with Star Wars than be continued to be insulted.

Of course, Lucas Film could add a billion dollars to their company in less than a year if those in charge of Lucas Film apologized to the fans and resigned from the company. But, given the self-righteous loathing those at Lucas Film have for the fans that is likely not going to happen.

I am an OG Star Wars fan. Didn’t purchase the Last Jedi and will not watch it. I absolutely will not watch this mess that is about Han. Figured there’d be a bitch in there spreading bitchdom as that seems to be Disney’s m.o. with the Star Wars franchise.

That said, and pun intended here, there is a New Hope coming..I do not see how they can insert their bitch feminist agenda into this one. If they do, I will eat a plate of crow.

Correct, I was a huge Star Wars fan (original trilogy) and still am. I have not and will not see any of the Disney Star Wars Films as a matter of principle.

Yes, Lucas drew on Akira Kurosawa films and worked in Joseph Cambell Mythology (Hero of a Thousand Faces). He cast the films in a setting of American Sci-Fi like Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon.

The end result was fantastic. It was a Universal Mythology that all people could identify with. Lucas doesn’t get all the credit though, he had a great team helping him with the details.

Maybe off topic but Toshiro Mifune was one of my favorite Actors. He is right up there with Clint Eastwood, IMO. Meh, probably better at acting than Eastwood but both made/acted in brilliant movies.

F~~~ing Mifune was t~~~ in the movie 1941, as the sub-commander and was out-f~~~ing-standing as Yoshi Toranaga in Shogun. Never mind the Kurosawa days.

The last thing I watched of Star Wars was Rebels, and while that show had problems the show creators were respectful towards the source material and the fans. The Rebels series had a number of Clone Wars characters including Ahsoka and Rex, some EU characters and ideas including Thrawn, it tied up a loose in that conflicts with the Solo movie, the series showed how badass Vader was, and the show introduced direct application of intentional time travel to the Star Wars franchise, which might be someday used to ret-gone the SJW events from Star Wars.

I saw Solo over the weekend and thank god Ron Howard stepped in, apparently they had to re-shoot 80% of the movie.

Still there was a feminist robot in the film which every single line out of her c~~~y mount was about being oppressed and fighting for women’s/female robot rights. I’m glad she died half way though.

The film was passable and overall a decent but not overwhelmingly great time at the movies.

Human nature will eventually win to feminism/SJW as placating and coddling minority groups. Both men and women are getting burned out of the complaining and being forced fed to be overly sensitive and inclusive. Some large scale event (WWIII, A Great Depression, Virus etc..) will turn the clock back in a more normal and corrective action.

They jumped the shark with the Jar Jar Binks movie. That was the last one I saw. I know people that dumped Star Wars after Lucas changed the story line making Darth Vader Luke’s father. I don’t want to think how PC they have gotten lately.
