Just throwing out some personal passions. Life on Earth can be long and boring. Sometimes you have to take on a new hobby to change things up a little bit.

With a little practice, 1a yo-yoing is a rewarding pastime. Forget figit spinners, real throwers get a 1A and bust out tricks like Spirit Bomb. A fun hobby whether you drink or not.

    Diego Gravinese

Oil Painting: Though not for everyone, what do you have to lose by blowing a couple hundred on art supplies and spending a week wrestling with oil paint and getting p~~~ed off and then throwing the painting in the dumpster? LOL This painting was done by Diego Gravinese.

    ramp jump

Takes not skill whatsoever, buy a motor scooter and start taking corners at unsafe speeds. Its like therapy, you will be born again.

    journaling

Commit to filling up a journal, leave it in a closet for future reading, say 15 years later. Always interesting to remember later, how loony toons you are today.

    Ideas for Writing:
    1. Take a trip, every night describe in detail your observations and what came to mind as a reaction.
    2. Make a list of all the people, institutions, concepts and things you hate. Go into mad detail. Draw pictures of all those things burning or being dismembered.
    3. Poetry, plain and simple. Doesn’t have to make sense at all, just write words. Write all the fun words you like, they don’t have to be in sentences. Like: Nocturnal, Ambivalence, Indifference, Transcendence, Squirrel Sex, Nodal Cycle, Cyro-sleep.
    4. A simple journal cataloging your daily life, thoughts, regrets, ambitions, secrets, desires….
    5. Write a story.

    Binance

Start a couple of Exchange accounts like Coinbase & Binance. Throw a few hundred bucks in there and learn how to swing trade crypto.
Again, not for everyone. Learn some Technical Analysis and see if you can double your hundred bucks. *Trading can result in total loss of your money* but it can be fun and arguably more productive than playing a video game. I spent years playing Command & Conquer from 2009-2015. What I should have been doing is learning how to trade…time is money.
Again, day trading or buying crypto is controversial and could end up being a waste of money…

Responsibility, Time and Money required but they don’t call them Man’s Best Friend for nothing. I’m waiting until I don’t live in a condo to get one, and also when earn more and have more time. But I love them.

    culinary arts

Last but NOT least, cut up some food, throw in some spice, BBQ or pan fry. Learn how to cook something tasty!

Moral of the Post: Whether you drink or not, there is a world of FUN things to do. You are the one standing in the way. Get busy. Chug some coffee and get to work enriching your life.

I have a wide range of things that I dabble in with no real intention of approaching mastery. I can fiddle around on about 7 different musical instruments, I do physical conditioning every day, I’ve got a handful of video games that I play weekly, and I read things other than a news feed. I’m also not bad with various carpentry diversions and I miss the motorcycle I had to sell fiercely (I’m looking at a new GSXR600 for next spring).

Man, that guy’s skin got peeled like a potato you know it.

Yea, riding bicycles and two-wheelers is my favorite. Both are dangerous as hell. Helmet and Vigilance. If the day comes, it comes. My caution has saved me thus far.

Authenticating autographs and then buying them for re-selling .. probably falls into the sober category.

My interest in coin collecting and resale .. autograph collecting and re-selling has intensified over past few years.

I have been interested in magic illusions as far back as I can remember, I do collect some of them .. this has also gotten me somewhat interested in cardistry since my favorite tricks are usually with cards.

Thanks HmSkool’d ! Yer just the guy I was hoping that would come by and flop down something cool like that.

There is so much out there for us. For me, I don’t drink, and of course I don’t fool with women.

That guy is slick with those cards! hmmm.. you have my attention. I’m pretty good with my fingers, I wonder if I could pick up “cardistry”

Autograph collecting and reselling, that’s one I haven’t heard either. I once saw a Roman coin on Antiques Roadshow, that was pretty cool.

On closer inspection of that Harley video, it was his fault. That moron was driving with no hands!

Speed wobble is sometimes recoverable. These are a whole different class though.

I collect vinyl records, video games and smoke cigars. I also recently got into collecting comic books. There was a time when I collected beer bottles and tried being a beer connoisseur by trying different beers, but I don’t give a s~~~ about that anymore and have been cutting back on drinking altogether.

I’m going to buy an unopened N64 one of the days, cost be damned. Start playing WaveRace64, GoldenEye, DiddyKong/Mario Kart….all of them from the late 90’s

Probably going to cost me a couple grand last I checked.

You can get some on eBay for $100 and up complete in the box, but sealed? Good luck finding one of those.

When I was a teenager, I remember having a lot of free time. Sometimes I would spend hours throwing my pocket knife into a log.

I also liked playing frisbee and tennis with friends. When I hear a song I like, I try to play it on the guitar.

My woodworking is a little beyond hobbies. I guess it would be fishing, working with my golden retriever, and wrenching/modifying/rebuilding/restoring on cars and trucks.
