I put mine up last week, just a fake tree with some b~~~~, garlands and tiny yellow lights, and added some colored lights earlier today because it looks funky:

Mine is up… I put it up to try to improve my mood this season even though I won’t be home for the holiday. Also put up some outside lights to make myself feel more festive. My daughter’s cat is enjoying it… I keep hearing him attack it but he knows better so he tries to be sneaky about it.

My dad and I put ours up last Saturday, and it’s brand new. It’s pre-lit tree that easily folds up. It has Star Wars ornaments. We also have ornaments that plug into the lights and it talks phrases. We couldn’t put a topper on it because it’s 6 inches below the ceiling. Also I wanted silver garland, but there was not enough. So we went with red-white-blue, which I chose because Trump is in the White House. My dad likes to install a model train and town with a Home Depot building under the tree. So we have a man’s Christmas tree.

I put mine up thanksgiving long weekend. Also fake, it’s 7 feet kind of skinny since i live in a small place and its flocked and pre-lit. I decorate it red/silver and white and the lights are white. It looks quite nice when its done and decorated.

When I had a young son living with me, I used to put up a Christmas tree, (a real one…loved the smell), and a bunch of lights on the outside of the house and lights all over a couple outside trees. It was beautiful and lit up the yard brilliantly. Living alone with no children to appreciate it, I’m not gonna’ go through the hassle.

It’s nice to do that for the kids, but for me, Christmas isn’t about all that anyway. Not knocking any of you guys for having a tree. If it makes you happy, that’s great and actually, it makes me happy reading about how you guys are enjoying putting up a Christmas tree.

tree? Last Christmas tree I bought is in an elementary school closet, almost 400 miles from here.

The slim seven foot artificial spruce tree way back in the corner of the cave never goes down .. been lighted all year with two hundred led lights .. it makes a nice backdrop for watching old movies .. uses about 9.6 watts .. costs about $7.00 per year to operate 24/7 or, as I run it six hours per day, .. costs me about $2.50 per year electricity cost.
About the same cost annually as one decent hamburger with no fries.

I don’t really consider it a Christmas tree at all .. as much as a form of indirect lighting .. I vacuum it once in awhile. I just like having a tree in the house. It just makes the place look a little more like a lodge, or maybe sporting goods store .. or even a bait & tackle shop. I like that piney, spruce evergreen look all year round. What I’d really like would be a rustic Oak tree growing up through the room surrounded buy circular cobblestone pavers merging to carpet .. but I haven’t figured out or solved the unique weatherstripping and potential heat-loss difficulties, yet.

There is a resort not far from where I live and they have three or more large healthy looking trees growing through the central lobby .. large shag bark trees .. it looks awesome. I need something similar but on slightly smaller scale. Walking into that place is magical all year round .. and they do tend to decorate them during holidays.
