    I am so sick of ads. I get it the internet is free and ads pay for it but for f~~~s sake pitch me ads I might actually be interested in.

    On YouTube, I’ve gotten ads in Spanish. I cant speak Spanish. Ads for a Cadillac? Really?

    I was playing words with friends a scrabble app and after every f~~~ing ad they play a Michelle Obama ad.

    Aren’t they wasting money by playing me ads that I have a zero chance of buying.

    Of all the things I plan on buying from food to etc they choose show me things I have no interest in.

    End rant.

    I block all ads using Chrome web browser and a few free add on extensions to it. I would strongly recommend getting these installed through Chromes extension browser: AdBlock, uBlock Origins, Ghostery, and Disconnect (all their products). I live an ad free web experience now, pages load more quickly, my browser does not crash from s~~~y coded ads, and no tracking companies know what sites I go to.

    After watching my shows on Blu-ray and DVD, seeing a few minutes of commercial television again at a neighbor’s house was quite uncomfortable. I stayed awhile and watched the local evening news and weather. I could no longer enjoy a show interrupted by ads .. and it seemed that all the ads had some kind of thumping audio or repetitive noise behind the music to try and make a person look over at the screen. Even the evening news segment that I saw, when they showed a graphic .. it had that scrolling opp-art background moving constantly behind the text so it was a pain to watch. I realize those news people are just trying to look high tech and cool with their scrolling-moving visual backdrops .. I’d much rather see text against a still background. Just call me an old fashioned media luddite. That half hour news show over at the neighbor was enough tv to last me another year. Commercials are the sole reason I gave up tv. I miss some things .. but I can’t stand to go back and sit through almost twenty minutes per hour of the ad stuff. Thus, I started collecting discs. I personally don’t trust the satellite or cable media providers, either .. they can eliminate my favorite old-vintage stuff in a heartbeat; gone forever .. so I rely strictly on my own little collection of discs and don’t need any content decisions made by them or provided by anyone. I am my own little cable company and I trust my discs will have a long shelf life if stored carefully. Some of the best old rail journeys and some concerts I have saved on disc are not only out of print, they aren’t even available used any longer.

    @home school’d;

    Same here. Once weaned off the tit of “free” TV, it was not possible for me to go back.
