Anyone see this latest promo spot for Deadpool?
Male character gets his ass smacked by female character. Other female character steps in to show her up. In the end Deadpool makes a quip (“I hate to see the guy that pressures her into prom sex”) that looks like a rape culture reference.
I am still looking to see the movie, but just making a note of things like this and seeing what anyone else here thinks about it.

Thanks for the heads up. Until I hear otherwise, Deadpool is off my list.
Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?
I don’t see the rape culture joke.
I see the joke as meaning, I feel sorry for the guy that takes her to the prom, because he likely don’t know what he is getting into.
Keep in mind that Deadpool said this right after she slam another woman, whom had just knocked Colossus across the yard, into a wall.
And I would not be surprised that Deadpool was thinking along the line. Okay. This girl is a lot more dangerous than I thought.
The fact that f~~~ing COLOSSUS gets his ass handed to him by this little broad makes me not want to see the movie at all, but I don’t really know anything about Deadpool or any of it’s characters but to me it comes across as more feminist “Women are strong too!!” bulls~~~.
I mean it’s f~~~ing COLOSSUS for goodness sake.
In that clip, Deadpool says, “I pity the guy who pressures her into prom sex”. Maybe another one is “takes her to the prom” but this one has a reference to rape culture. OF COURSE, all guys, as per the rape culture mentality, are ALWAYS pressuring women in girls at all times, into having sex.

Yep, off the list of movies I’m going to watch. Remember kids, violence against men is ok.
Feminism is a movement where opinions are presented as facts and emotions are presented as evidence.

In that clip, Colossus happens to get caught off balance, trying to be nice, and says he won’t hit a woman. It isn’t that Colossus is a wimp, but the fact that you had the girl character come in to deliver a punch. It is a whole “girlpower” thing and you see the desire to push it from a Feminist angle.
As far as Deadpool goes, check out other clips. Ryan Reynolds is good job with the character. I just take this more as a nod to feminism promo in it.

The running gag of the X-men comics is Colossus is always the first X-men to get his ass handed to him on a mission. This is just par for course.
One thing about the Deadpool comic series is the tongue to cheek jokes to the X-men (and Spider-man) franchise(s).
And Richard is right. Colossus was trying to be nice and he was caught off guard.
It is clear that Colossus is the good cop to NTW’s bad cop act. And he was probably assigned to the mission to keep things from getting out of hand. Which they always do.

Actually, that was not the point. And the super-strong woman looked to get hit worse than Colossus. It is just, that way she hit the wall she landed on her feet.
And before that, Deadpool was perfectly happy with a man dealing with that super-strong woman. As long as it was not himself.
And Colossus was trying to put the woman in cuffs. That should also be pointed out.
This Deadpool movie is more white knight-ish than anything. It’s about a guy who gets cancer and now has to go all “superhero” to save “his girl.”
I might still watch it from a free streaming site once it hits blu-ray. But, I’m sure as hell not paying for it.

Anonymous22I think lots of today’s Hollywood movies are also made to brainwash people into thinking some certain way. Just like commercials.
They try to make women look like they’re as smart, or even smarter and stronger than men although everyone knows it’s not like that in real life. Also, in movies immigrants are always victims and very humble and good hearted people although anyone who lives in Los Angeles, or London knows that it’s total bulls~~~.
But they still successfully brainwash a lot of people. As a result, these brainwashed people become more ‘tolerant’.
It’s a good idea to not watch TV at all. Or at least not take anything too seriously.

Anonymous1I’m still gonna see it, it just so happens that the woman is Gina Carano, and she can kick some ass, not like Ronda Rousey, but she still kicks it good.
And as a huge fan of movies I know a lot of them are “white knight-ish” but dude, is just a movie, like Tarantino said once: “I have loved movies as the number one thing in my life so long that I can’t ever remember a time when I didn’t.” And I dare to say that for each white knight-ish movie there are like 2 or 3 that are not.
Besides, where you guys saw he’s saving “his girl”???. All I know is he’s trying to get revenge for the things someone did to him.
You make a good point, Conscienzz. And anyone that knows the comic counterparts to the characters knows that all of them, even the “girlfriend”, could stab Wade in the back.
And this would not be the first time that Morena Baccarin played a very cagey temptress. See Inara from Firefly/Serenity.
And when it comes to the cast and production crew. This top notch. I really feel that they got the proper writers and the right cast to make this movie.
My only concern if is I can find a theater in driving distance that serves tex-mex while I watch the Deadpool film. I want some chimichangas while I watch this insanity. (If you know Deadpool, you know the joke.)
@Conscienzz
Last week, I saw a short trailer played constantly promoting the movie. Deadpool actually says “when you’re girl is kidnapped, that’s when you to step in and save her” or some s~~~ like that.
I also don’t mind white knight-ish media, but when it comes to modern western movies, I tend to not trust it. And only watch it when I can find it for free online.

I understand Deadpool will get an R-Rating and will be pushing the envelope some with that. I can see why they won’t have him go full comic book Deadpool. I also understand that the fans of the comic who saw the movie gave it a thumb’s up.
I do consider the comment Deadpool made about the prom playing off Rape Culture that feminists push though.

Sometimes something is so good you have to cut it a break in the orthodoxy department.
Men or women, this movie looks cool.
I would see it if I were a little younger and couldn’t wait until it comes on pay per view.
However, I can and I will.
#icethemout; Remember Thomas Ball. He died for your children.
The movie looks decent.
Growing up, I wasn’t that big of a Deadpool fan because I was too busy enjoying Freakazoid, Spawn and Lobo.i’m in kuwait. i’ll watch it online so i don’t miss all the cut out censored parts.
I bathe in the tears of single moms.

Anonymous1well, at least I can think of 1 thing women are actually useful, to smugle food in their purse when you go to the movie theater, and you can go with your sister/mom/friend, I still can go with my mom since she’s still looks like a young girl, i’m 24 btw.
So if you don’t mind, voy a hacerme unas chimichangas

You do realize that a woman’s purse could be classified as a biohazard containment bag.
So that idea is a, no go.
By the way, I love the pic. Cha! Cha! Cha!
I just bring my laptop bag and stuff a Subway sandwhich or Popeyes in it when I go to the movie theatres.
