Wondering what others’ thoughts on sick days are. I try not ever take any if I don’t absolutely have to, especially considering where I work you still get some bad points anyway unless you put in for it ahead of time(and who can predict when they’ll catch cold when the minimum time is 3 weeks…and they can call you in or ask you to stay later whenever they feel like it).

So when I’m essentially on my death bed, I expect not to be treated like s~~~ from a company I always put in the extra effort for. New boss is really testing my patience, as if I hadn’t been doing enough to go beyond expectations the previous 3 years. Give me a f~~~ing break you entitled c~~~. I go in earlier tonight to say I may not be in tomorrow, because in the past when I’ve called early in the morning no one bothers to answer the phone, so I believe I’m being nice here, and I get told to take medicine and try sleeping like I’m some kind of child. I should know my body, and maybe it is a weak immune system but it usually lasts a week regardless of what I do.

Definitely take the sick day and more if you need it. Worst thing to do is not give yourself enough time to heal and it gains strength and knocks you down again, harder.

People underestimate how important it is to rest and heal and that requires time. I hardly ever get real sick but last year i did pick up something and it knocked me down hard the first two days but i didnt feel back to normal until after day 7. I aggresively took vitamins and allicin (garlic derivative compound) early to fight back hard and i think it really helped, most people took 2-3 weeks to get back to normal.

Women want everything, but want responsibility and accountability for nothing.

I use to feel the same way until it was pointed out to me that going to work sick there is a good chance you will make others sick.

Heat it up, sip on it. Go to bed with lots of blankets. LOTS OF BLANKETS. Sweat the cold out and wake up like a new man. You’ll thank yourself for it. Always keep whiskey in the house. It’s a reason those old cartoons had the dog with the whiskey around its neck. Whiskey works.

TAKE THE SICK DAYS AND DON’T FEEL BAD ABOUT IT.

Just like you, I worked for f~~~ing years without taking – any – sick days. No personal days either. I would prefer to collect the payout for unused ones anyway. Nobody gives you a f~~~ing medal for that.

But when your employer even TRIES to make you “feel guilty” . . .

    “I don’t live to work…. I work to live”.
However it’s articulated, make it clear. No job is worth this s~~~.

    “I don’t live to work…. I work to live”.
She can’t have a problem with this.

She may reward you for extra work and NOT taking sick days. But she is no position to punish you or give you grief for taking them. You’d be surprised – even with your employer – you can say anything you want to anyone you want and get away with it if you say it with enough authority.

Be self-assured no matter how much she doesn’t “like” it.

That’s all I have to say about that.
Throw it away if you want.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

I’ve had bosses kick me out of my job area for working while sick in the States. However, my job situation is a lot different than most people at this time. It’s actually more comfortable for me to be at work than my sleeping area. Also, there is less of a chance for me to pass on my cold/flu/whatever to anyone else at work.

I am wondering. Am I the only one that looks forward to going to work? I really love my job.

Don't stick your dick into anyone you aren't willing to put up with for eighteen years and nine months.

I too enjoy what I do. I don’t know how else I would spend most of my time. I enjoy this website a lot as well. I was definitely more social around town during my blue pill days. I just do not bother anymore. I have a small business and I stay close to my family. I also like to stay fit and healthy.

My allotted sick days have accumulated over the years and the value of them at retirement is considerably less, which means if I don’t use them up before then, I’m throwing money away.

Yes. I call in sick on some occasions when I’m not sick.

I know most guys don’t have a generous sick day benefit like this, but you gotta take care of yourself, because work will not do it for you.

Coming to work sick will cause you will spread you infectious illness to others and you will take longer to recover, if you recover at all.

Your health is the most valuable thing you have. Take good care of it.
F~~~ your employer if they try to shame you into working sick or injured.
