A Christian school in Canada is told not to teach Bible passages that could be offensive to some students. I’m thinking this could be a real boost for Christianity. Not telling people what the books really says might help to promote the religion.

    Thoughts???

All religions including Buddhism, Christianity, Islam etc were hijacked by successive generations, who injected their own 2 cents, hence distorting the original message. Just like a game of Chinese whispers. As the elite got more and more greedy, they wanted more and more power over people. A good way to remove power away from people is to encourage them to think inside the box and only withing the confines of the box. People seeing reality for what it truly is, is a BIG threat to the elite. The elite keep people distracted as much as possible by making s~~~ up.

    Do you mean like this?

This gal has an app to make the Christian Bible more ‘lesbian friendly’…

Depends. If that school is religion affiliated, then they can teach that being a part of their culture and whatnot. If the school is funded by the state, then good luck because they are going to teach the kids to be politically correct manginas and white knights depending on who is in power…Still, the responsibility falls on the parents to teach the child a strong moral compass and know how to think…
Lots of variable in this topic but I say…Dont delegate education to just the school…If you have a child then take responsibility on bringing up the child according to your way and let them decide later on…Dont outsource all the learning to the school…You cant prevent what they teach in the school but you can educate the child on your values…

I stand with feet apart and let my balls hang free...Manginas dont have balls...See how they stand and sit at the whim of their masters...

I’m positive the bible has already been censored.

Interesting post Autolite, but the Bible is already Censored. The Old Testament is a censored version of the Jewish Scriptures. The New Testament is a censored version of the Original Christianity. There were many other gospels besides those in the Bible. The Dead Sea Scrolls exposed this truth. The Late Roman Empire censored Christianity in the Council of Nicea (Emperor Constantine) to fit a political agenda. Any one, who disagreed Gnostics and Arians etc. were hunted down and killed and their books were burned. It’s always been heavily censored. Yet, people still believe it is infallible. I have had people tell me that God created Dinosaur bones to test our faith. Lol.

    Yeah!

But I thought that the Bible was open to interpretation. It’s okay not to take what it says literally…

If that’s true then god created woman to test your sanity, and your resolve, and your common sense, and your sense of self, and your will power, and your morals and and and…….

I thought it was suppose to be Lucyfer who planted all those dinosaur bones. That’s what my grandfather told me anyway…

Hehe, The Cathars thought the Bible was open to interpretation. The Roman Church implemented an Inquisition and massacred them all. They really enjoyed killing all the Children too. The killing saved their souls though, so they should be thankful. Time heals all wounds. Christianity has really lightened up a bit over the years, and it’s much more friendly and flexible for the casual believer. They can twist it and re-interpret any which way now. Say and do anything to sell you a bottle of Dr. Good.

I think that I might look a little more into this. I’ve heard about Biblical apocrypha but I haven’t really checked it out. Robert M. Price claims that religious leaders had no choice but to remove some parts of the Bible. In “The God Who Wasn’t There”, Price says that some of what was in the early Bible was so profoundly absurd and ridiculous that even the most gullible of people couldn’t swallow it. That stuff had to be ditched in order to sell the rest of the book.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biblical_apocrypha

    https://www.amazon.ca/Apocrypha-Authorized-Version-Books-Bible/dp/0880299916/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1499795307&sr=1-4&keywords=biblical+apocrypha

Maybe modern Christians should at least consider a ‘new’ revised Bible in order to promote and sustain their religion. In it’s current form it’s just too silly and outrageous for many people to swallow anymore…

Reference dinosaur fossils, on one of the YouTube links there was a comment about Muslims claiming that “The Jews buried dinosaur bones in order to turn Muslims away from their faith”.

This is the first that I’ve heard of this. Has anyone else here heard this before? Does anyone else here believe that dinosaur bones were/are a deliberate attempt to discredit Theism???

How exactly does one know what the “original message” is? Well before stories were written down, they were told by word of mouth which naturally distorts the stories. Then they became written, were translated, changed, written, rewritten. The dead sea scrolls were not the original. The stories did not start with the scrolls. The stories came well before the scrolls and were passed down through generations. Storytellers always manipulate a story for the sake of making it more entertaining, or to drive home an agenda. For all you know, the stories as you know them are the furthest thing from what actually happened. You have no idea. You did not personally witness these accounts live to verify the story’s authenticity.

Yeah, I caught that one too. It’s self evident that no one today can claim what the “original message” is suppose to be. I just didn’t really think that it was necessary or helpful to point that out…

Generally speaking it’s not, but when someone promotes a straw man argument like that, there isn’t really much choice.

    Yeah, I get that.

I think that we can all agree though that the current Bible is not in it’s original form. We know that through the ages much of the original Bible was taken out for a variety reasons so the question remains; “Why not just do it again to suite modern attitudes”?

Reference the OP, they’re telling the school to ignore “offensive” parts of the scripture. Why not just rewrite the Bible to get rid of the stuff that’s offensive? It’s obviously and evidently not the first time that the book has been ‘modified’…

Oh yeah, it’s undergone a lot of changes. Many different versions of the Bible between my Catholic Bible, Tyndall Bible, NIV Bible, King James etc. They were all censored and revised to suit current political agendas. I’m sure they will do a LGBT friendly edition soon. Modern churches are like a Starbucks or McDonalds. It’s a franchise company. They come to your neighborhood build a Mega-plex and sell their Brand of Bible to you. There is no shortage of suckers to flock to these places. I’ve already seen the blue haired, tattooed up land whales, with tons of piercings at these places. I know because members of my family are regular attenders of the new Megaplex Theater Church.
