So a leftist comedian goes on television and tells the progressive base that the way to express their hatred and rage against “nazis”, “fascists” and the Trump administration is to stay at home and eat cake.

And the lefties go wild… probably because now they feel they have a legitimate excuse to sit at home and eat cake.

Although almost certainly an apocryphal “quote” attributed to Marie Antoinette, this phrase has nonetheless entered the common lexicon as a symbol of an aristocratic disregard for the plight of the common people. So for the left… the self proclaimed warriors of social justice and defenders of the common folk… to sit at home and eat cake as a response to protesters… any protesters protesting for any reason…

It reminds me of a recent statement I saw where some progressive attempted to claim “ownership” of the concept of the superhero by referring to one of “their people” having created the Scarlet Pimpernel… a character who, as it turns out, saved rich aristocrats from the angry mobs of the French Revolutionary government.

It is… ‘ow you say… telling, no?
