Neither of the two wings of the Statist Party (a.k.a. the Democrats and Republicans) are IDEOLOGICAL parties. Thus, they are not internally consistent. The public prefers Statism (big government).
Alternative third parties are ideologically based. You know what the socialists, Greens, Libertarians, and Communists want, and it is internally consistent.
The two parties seek to WIN ELECTIONS, not philosophical debates. For instance, Republican candidates talk about a balanced budget once every 2 or 4 years, to win their primary elections; once they win the general election, it’s crickets. Why? Because they feed at the same special interest trough as the other swine; they need big money Corporate donations. And the general public wants spending, but want someone ELSE to pay for it — apparently, their children and grandchildren. Reconciling GOP libertarian rhetoric with its statist urges and policies, is impossible — whether it be foreign wars, mandating religious orthodoxy, or voting to increase medicare drug benefits, then immediately afterwards, calling Obamacare ‘socialism’ — that’s what you call HYPOCRISY. Similarly, liberals (the word means FREE) do favor SOME personal autonomy (they don’t want to get in our bedrooms) but are STATISTS on economic policy, and want to redistribute wealth, just like the Republicans.
Similarly, the swine from the Democratic Party are typically, bought and paid for by the Unions. So they support more money to union-dominated segments of the economy, such as public schools and government, and very little oversight of these entities, and very little choice such as school choice. They tend to thrive on divisions — racial, economic, etc. It’s ‘us vs the 1%’ or ‘blacks vs whites’.
There will always be money in politics. But one way to reduce corruption is to reduce the size and scope of government. Then there is less money to fight over and steal. The problem isn’t how much is spent on campaigns; it is how much is spent by government. The latter, causes the former!
MGTOWMONKEY: Police abuse exists, but numerically, it is insignificant, and impacts ALL races. And it’s true, the police forces tend to attract authoritarian personalities. The problem is MUCH diminished over what it used to be; we now have Internal Affairs Departments, and cameras. The police are much more professionalized in the US now, than 30 years ago when I was a teenager. I very much disapprove of the way it is handled, though — INDIVIDUALS should be held accountable, not local governments.
And the problems of inner city America, lie with the racist drug laws, which have caused half of young black men to be incarcerated, and with the welfare State, which has encouraged women to have children they cannot support. When America was a free country, there was no DEA or BATF or drinking age. You went to the drugstore and bought cocaine, or you walked into a saloon to get a drink. And I say this, as someone who does not drink or use recreational drugs. The irresponsible media focuses on racially divisive shootings, instead of the day-to-day despair of the inner city, which is caused by other factors. It wouldn’t matter if everyone on inner city police forces was black; there will still be mistaken shootings. And this hypothetical all-black police force, will do nothing to resolve the poverty and crime issues in these communities, as it is not the source.
The cost of supporting these women (welfare, AFDC, etc) is not all that significant in terms of total government spending (though it is, of course, still unethical wealth transfer). The real problem with this system is we have unfit parents raising the next generation — so the costs snowball — incarceration, Section 8 housing, AFDC, etc. It is multi-generational welfare. It is politically incorrect to say this, but such children, should be put up for adoption where they can be raised by loving parents. Half of young blacks in prison is a relatively NEW situation; we did not have it 70 years ago, nor did we have the 80% illegitimacy. If we made these policy changes, the gangs would have no ‘rackets’. The culture would change. Hood rats of all colors, would not readily breed. The violence would drop because drug prices would plummet, since they would readily be available everywhere. The resources allocated to warehousing the black male population in prisons, could be directed to drug treatment and rehabilitation programs. I’d also like to see felons convicted of violent crimes get a mandatory vasectomy; if they want to reverse is, they’re free to PAY for it when they get out of jail.
