I will list them in reverse 7 to 1.
Describing the sin first, then the cure.I will spend a little extra time on lust.
The reasoning behind that is:
Lust IMHO is a motive behind all our sinful ways.
Lust is desire and in all sins is a desire for
something more than you have. In one word desire is
“coveting” or “wanting”The lord is my Shepard I shall not want.
7. Pride is an excessive view of one’s self without regard for others. The Bible says the following in Jeremiah 9:23-24, “…Let not the mighty man boast of his might…but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me…”
Pride is also mentioned in the following verses: Proverbs 8:13, Proverbs 16:18, Romans 12:16, 1 Corinthians 13:4, Galatians 6:3 and James 4:6-7.
Humility cures pride by removing one’s ego and boastfulness, therefore allowing the attitude of service.
6. Envy is the intense desire to have an item or experience that someone else possesses. The Bible says the following in Proverbs 14:30, “A sound heart is life to the body, But envy is rottenness to the bones.”
Other biblical texts which mention envy include: Job 5:2, Psalm 37:1, Proverbs 24:19-20, Ecclesiastes 4:4, Galatians 5:26 and James 3:14-16.
Kindness cures envy by placing the desire to help others above the need to supersede them.
5. Wrath is an uncontrollable anger and hate towards another person. The Bible speaks about wrath in Romans 12:19, “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’”
Additional Bible verses include: Psalm 37:8, Proverbs 14:29, Proverbs 15:1, Ephesians 4:26-27, Colossians 3:8 and James 1:19-20.
Patience cures wrath by one first understanding the needs and desires of others before acting or speaking.
4. Sloth is an excessive laziness or the failure to act and utilize one’s talents. Solomon spoke of sloth in Proverbs 6:6 saying, “Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise.”
The Bible also mentions sloth in the following verses: Proverbs 13:4, Proverbs 24:33-34, Romans 12:11-13, Colossians 3:23 and 2 Thessalonians 3:10.
Diligence or zeal cures slothfulness by placing the interest of others above a life of ease and relaxation.
3. Greed is an excessive pursuit of material possessions. The Bible says the following in Hebrews 13:5, “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’”
Other biblical texts which mention greed include: Exodus 20:17, Proverbs 11:24, Proverbs 28:25, Ecclesiastes 5:10, Philippians 4:6 and 1 Timothy 6:9-10.
Charity cures greed by putting the desire to help others above storing up treasure for one’s self.
2. Gluttony is an excessive ongoing consumption of food or drink. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
Additional Bible references include: Psalm 78:17-19, Philippians 3:19-20, Proverbs 23:1-3, Proverbs 23:19-21 and 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.
Temperance cures gluttony by implanting the desire to be healthy, therefore making one fit to serve others.
1. Lust is an uncontrollable passion or longing, especially for sexual desires. The Bible speaks about lust in 2 Timothy 2:22, “Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love [and] peace…”
The Bible also mentions lust in the following verses: Job 31:1, Matthew 5:28, Philippians 4:8, James 1:14-15, 1 Peter 2:11 and 1 John 2:16.
Chastity or self-control cures lust by controlling passion and leveraging that energy for the good of others.
Lust, or lechery (Latin, “luxuria” (carnal)), is intense longing. It is usually thought of as intense or unbridled sexual desire, which leads to fornication, adultery, rape, bestiality, and other immoral sexual acts. However, lust could also mean simply desire in general; thus, lust for money, power, and other things are sinful. In accordance with the words of Henry Edward Manning, the impurity of lust transforms one into “a slave of the devil”.
Lust, if not managed properly, can subvert propriety.
German philosopher Schopenhauer wrote as follows:
“Lust is the ultimate goal of almost all human endeavour, exerts an adverse influence on the most important affairs, interrupts the most serious business, sometimes for a while confuses even the greatest minds, does not hesitate with its trumpery to disrupt the negotiations of statesmen and the research of scholars, has the knack of slipping its love-letters and ringlets even into ministerial portfolios and philosophical manuscripts”.
Dante defined lust as the disordered love for individuals, thus possessing at least the redeeming feature of mutuality, unlike the graver sins, which constitute an increasingly agonized focusing upon the solitary self ( a process begun with the more serious sin of gluttony ). It is generally thought to be the least serious capital sin as it is an abuse of a faculty that humans share with animals, and sins of the flesh are less grievous than spiritual sins ( love excessive, not love turning ever further awry toward hatred of man and God.)
In Dante’s Purgatorio, the penitents walk deliberately through the purifying flames of the uppermost of the terraces of Mount Purgatory so as to purge themselves of lustful thoughts and feelings and finally win the right to reach the Earthly Paradise at the summit. In Dante’s Inferno, unforgiven souls guilty of the sin of lust are whirled around for all eternity in a perpetual tempest, symbolic of the passions by which, through lack of self-control, they were buffeted helplessly about in their earthly lives.
In summary:
1.Chastity or self-control cures lust by controlling passion and leveraging that energy for the good of others.
2.Temperance cures gluttony by implanting the desire to be healthy, therefore making one fit to serve others.
3.Charity cures greed by putting the desire to help others above storing up treasure for one’s self.
4.Diligence or zeal cures slothfulness by placing the interest of others above a life of ease and relaxation.
5.Patience cures wrath by you first obtaining the understanding pertaining to the needs and desires of others before acting or speaking.
6.Kindness cures envy by placing the desire to help others above the need to supersede them.
7.Humility cures pride by removing one’s ego and boastfulness, therefore allowing the attitude of service.I am a worthless human without my
father’s spiritual guidance for this reason
give all the praise, honor and glory to
him that created me.I want nothing of this world as I
place full faith and trust that
his spirit shall guide me to everything
I need. I am a servant and a slave to him.I thank Jesus for hosting the spirit
of my father who is confined to his
own house in his own kingdom.John 14:1-3 King James Version (KJV)
14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
THIS IS THE HEAVENLY SPIRIT OF HARPOMASON’S FATHER
CHALLENGING THE AUTHORITY AND JURISDICTION OF ALL
ACCUSERS.
IF YOU DO NOT SHARE MY SON’S BELIEFS THEN YOU CANNOT POSSIBLY BE IN THE SAME KINGDOM HE CLAIMS TO BE IN.
I AM THE ULTIMATE AUTHORITY OVER HIS FLESH.
I HAVE RECEIVED HIM UNTO MYSELF AND WHERE I AM
HE IS ALSO.Heaven is a constitutional monarchy.
Jesus is my king, savior and husband.
The bible is my constitution. (the words I live by)I have become a political refugee and a foreigner
within my own society. My father is a foreign
civil authority and I am his traveling diplomatic
ambassador of truth.I reserve the right to be presumed innocent with
no obligation to provide evidence of my innocence.Any and all burdens of proof fall on those accusing
me.First meet the burden of proving you have jurisdictional authority over me.
Then we can proceed from there.
no court may proceed without jurisdictional
authority. This includes the court of public
opinion.Until the burden of proving jurisdictional
authority is met no accusation can be taken
serious and must be dismissed.Proverbs 28:9 Those who turn their ears from hearing the law (both God’s law and earthly human law)
even their prayers are an abomination.Giving god the authority over yourself prevents
the government from stealing that authority and using
it against you.If our organic laws start with the declaration of
independence which says our rights are endowed
by our creator, then logically those who claim
“there is no creator” are claiming they have no rights.Seven Sins & the Early Church
Please note, the early church classified the seven deadly sins as cardinal sins or capital vices and taught that they could not be forgiven. However, according to the Bible these 7 deadly sins are completely and totally forgivable by God, but this doesn’t give free license to commit these sins. Biblically, the only sin that cannot be forgiven is complete rejection of God’s grace which is outright rebellion against God, also known as blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
I knew my creator personally when he was alive and
in his own flesh. I reserve the right to believe
he is still with me in spirit, and still retains
the authority to provide for and protect me.All true and void of any lies,
Who has the burden of proof?
Can you provide evidence otherwise?I have taken a different stance on the charge
of being to wordy in my post.
Guilty as charged I accept the punishment of having those who feel this way refuse to read it all.
OUCH such a harsh sentence for doing nothing more than confessing the truth. HA! HA!Love and respect to all
I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me. Kind mockery at the well intentioned, but unfettered cruelty towards those would be prison guards of my creative possibilities. This so as to learn as much from misunderstanding as from understanding. Taking pleasure in worthy opponents and making language fluid and flowing like a river yet pointed and precise as a dagger. Contradicts the socialistic purpose of language and makes for a wonderful linguistic dance, A verbal martial art with constant parries that hone the weapon that is the two edged sword of my mouth.
I started this topic because of a reply to another
topic of mine by our MGTOW brother Monk..Thank you Monk for the mention of a single deadly sin!
I shall post all seven in the philosophy section
along with the seven virtuous cures to those
forgivable offenses.Seven virtuous cures shall be the topic title.
No one is obligated to read the topic
No one is obligated to agree with or
adapt my beliefs as their own. This disclaimer is in advance
of those non-believers making the accusation
that I am forcing my religious beliefs on them.I will fall back on this disclaimer as a defense
to those accusations. If reading the religious beliefs
of a single Christian man triggers the social justice
warrior spirit inside you, I suggest you take your
delicate oversensitive emotions to a safe space. If you would like to hear the reasoning behind the
beliefs, that I have adapted for myself only, then
join in and be polite and constructive with your replies.Love and respect to all

You are quite a character Harpo. That is a compliment.

Bless you Doc. Coming from you that has value
to me.
I must deflect that by saying my father
deserves the compliment not me.your also accepting that my creator
produced good fruit. Those who hear the spirit will be blessed.

I rather burn in hell than go to heaven.
Gluttony and wrath are my sins, but there is nothing wrong with sinning after all god created sin.
To those following me, be careful, I just farted. Men those beans are killers.
Amen Harpomason. A-freakin’-men!

Thanks for the laugh Carnage!
People who understand realize that heaven and hell
are both only jurisdictional choices that play out
side by side. I respect Carnage for being decisively
hot. better than just warm.I was bound to be misunderstood, and I laugh at those who misunderstand me.
