I second what you’ve written. I’d also like to add that I absolutely agree that girls/ women are equal to men/boys. That’s why I don’t give any mind to “alarming” rise in stats. S~~~ happens to boys? No one cares, or it’s because of men and “the patriarchy” and men need to change because they are sick. S~~~ happens to girls/women? Everyone else is wrong and girls/women are all victims!!!! I shoulda put this thread in my NFG file. Being the father of a girl, I take a little different stance than other men. That’s why I have the view on this issue that I do.

I don’t blindly hate all females, I just treat them like I treat pitbulls, I stay away from them so I don’t get bit again. But if that makes me a feminist, cool. I just don’t get butt hurt when someone disagrees with me.

Where in this whole thread have a called anyone a name or insulted anyone? I would really take a stand on this issue if I really cared about it but for some reason I don’t. Maybe because I’m tired, I don’t know. You’re the one coming at me with the hate. But that’s cool.

I don’t talk s~~~ directly to people on here, mainly because I respect most of you guys and I like it here. And I believe in only talking s~~~ to a man face to face.

I would take a stand, problem is, I agree with pretty much everything said on this thread. For some reason I decided to use impathy toward girls. But I can’t argue against a point I agree with.

Do boys get a raw deal in this society, YES.
Are men expendable? YES.

So I’m not sure what my stance is other than lay off girls. But again, I really don’t care about that either on this thread.

Meanwhile boys, who grow into men, are becoming ever more aware of all this blatant bias and hypocrisy, and so are increasingly giving zero f~~~s about girls and women.

A lot of people here already should know I’ve posted about my own self harm, and certainly I felt a bit guilty for attention seeking, but it was also in part to have a place to discuss it in general because as said, no one cares that men harm themselves, too, and often keep it to themselves. Perhaps for the most part it is better that way, we don’t need validation from others anywhere near as much, though it may help to prevent suicides if men were not repeatedly put down for expressing negative feelings.

I’ve had a hard time letting my scars heal, between anxiety and stress and just incredibly dry skin and callouses I don’t care to treat and I just let split and bleed, nothing too big of a deal but still. At the very least nowadays it seems more like a relief in a very simple pleasure/pain sort of way than anything to do with crying about it to others. Had a dream the other night that I cut my left leg off from the knee down to apparently get out of work, who knows with dream logic – reading up I guess it could signify a feeling of imbalance in my life, probably to do with work lately. Regardless, I felt no pain, in fact felt apathy, and in waking life I wondered if it was worth bringing up to anyone.

So I wonder what the rates are for women older than that range? In my experience, many move on from cutting themselves for attention to your typical entitled bs in the guise of being strong,independent women, no more self harm to be seen, despite the wall hitting hard and fast. Would be interesting to see statistics on that.

From my experience, you can run into two types of psychiatric patients or people…

1. The actual ones.
2. The attention seekers.

The majority of #1 are people that have very serious plans to harm themselves and or others, and often times succeed if no interventions are made. I would say these patients pop up like 25% of the time at most.

The majority of #2 are people that for whatever reason, have decided to harm themselves in the heat of a moment or to relieve stress. These people may or may not actually physically harm themselves, but a lot of times, especially for the younger patients, they do these acts as a means to acquire attention. These make up about the other 75%.

Now here is the kicker…
Type 1 is typically of a male demographic
Type 2 is typically of a female demographic

I am by no means a logistical expert and i’m sure there are other factors as well, but from my experience, that is the trend that I have been noticing for the past few years.

I think JD draws an important distinction between young girls and women. Women are wired up and are going to be c~~~s for life. Young girls can still be molded and guided. They have not become c~~~s just yet. Perhaps this is me being optimistic. But if women like most of our grandmothers existed. Loving, caring, selfless. Those conditions can be created again. Though the society at large does go to work on females at a young age. Still, I believe a young girl does not have to turn into a c~~~ as a woman. There is potential there. However narrow.
