I think one of the problems with internet dating when you get well into your late 40’s is that the last time you were dating it was with people in their 20’s – 30’s. I instinctively look for the type of people who I would have been attracted to before. And I guess that women do the same.

Problem is, having checked the mirror, I don’t look the same as I did in my 30’s and nor do the women in my age group. I think people believe they can carry on where they left off, but the SMV has gone and you just can’t be that pickky anymore.

I now accept this sad fact but the women who rejected me on POF obviously don’t.

Why should they? The media and pop culture assures them that they are Hotties right up into their 60s. You and I know better but I’ve learned to never underestimate a woman’s capacity for self delusion.
