    Hello MGTOW,

Im 17 turning 18 in December. I’m in my last year of schooling. I have a pending application as an officer in the Australian Army with a university degree, overall about a 10 year contract if i sign the dotted line. My second choice is studying pretty much the only subject i’m very good at (A+ student in high school) which is Economics.  As of late, i have been questioning everything in my life, i have never been the typical kid and have always asked the questions everyone esle was to afraid to and i hate following the pack. In terms of girls i have discovered from this site, and my dads experience with my mother and his second wife whom was a nut job i’m very certain as of now that i don’t want a committed relationship. The army has always been appealing to me as its a guaranteed job, good work ethic amazing pay in Aus army with many bonus’s. The downside is i will entrirely loose my freedom and individuality, i will be another slave take orders. In terms of the economics degree i have no plan to be an economist, merely working in the business sector or even politics. I have so many desires but no cash. My schooling ends in October, and i will be jobless, but highly ambiguous, i have such unrealistic desires in the minds of others but i will do anything to make them happen. I want to own a house by the age 21, live with freedom and regret free, all around me i see men who have made bad decisions and hate where there life has taken them. Just discovering this forum tonight has enlightened me to the wisdom it holds, and i value the ideas and opinions of any individual here. Thanks MGTOW

Not a good idea, do you really want to go to war and fight your life so that the private bankers who fund feminism get rich? Let the women join the military and die for your their country.

Not a good idea to buy a house right now, I suggest renting a small place and saving money. There will be a housing bubble and when the value of homes drop considerably is the time the right to buy a house.

    Anyways welcome to the forums.

Go army. Ten years you will be 28 and in a very good position.

At this moment there is nothing out there to get excited about … and the economy is about to tank further.

You have 10 years to train, learn new skills, developed yourself and plan your future.

Yes you will be given orders and be ‘locked in’ …. but you will also be like that in a normal job.

    I say go for it ….. I wish I had ☺

Hi Ike, welcome, Don’t ever stop “questioning everything in your life”, that’s a good sign (critical thinking).

“i have never been the typical kid and have always asked the questions everyone esle was to afraid to and i hate following the pack.”

Me too, I once had a man threaten me with throwing a hand full of dirt in my face, because I wouldn’t change my story(change the truth) I was 12, he was in his thirties.

“The downside is i will entrirely loose my freedom and individuality, i will be another slave take orders.”

Learn something on the outside that requires a license, meaning trucking and heavy equipment, rigging and hauling. Things like that will strip you clean of just being another “slave taking orders”. Get a pilots license, there relatively cheap and take only a couple of months in class to achieve. Don’t go in as a generic clone.

I want to own a house by the age 21, live with freedom and regret free, all around me i see men who have made bad decisions and hate where there life has taken them.”

Dude, s~~~ or get off the pot! You’re not going to need a house when the army deploys you to where they need heavy equipment operators, truckers, and pilots, If you go in as any one of these holding a “license” you go past go and collect $200.00….

Glad your critical thinking switch is turned on, welcome to the club….

Tough decision. Can you do part time army and get some of the same benefits?

In my view, you can always go to college. Maybe do army and then go back and get your econ degree while slaying 19 and 20 year old college sluts.

I have a disposition and temperament very similar to yours and I can tell you without hesitation DO NOT JOIN THE ARMY.  Its an irreversible decision and you will constantly be the square peg being shoved through round holes.  My dad was a sailor for 20 years and I’ve been around a lot of military people.

With any govt job you generally are trading down to get security.  Ok if you aren’t sure what you like to do for a living.  Master what you love, economics, and by definition you will be successful and will always be employable.  The men who love what they do naturally rise to the top of their profession.  I’ve seen that over and over again.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Starting to think studying economics in uni is the best option, and maybe trying to make my way in the private sector later on preferably. Just leaves me being a poor student for a few years…..

Not a bad idea to consider doing the army for, like, 10 years. I used to consider the army idea when I was about 17 years old, didn’t follow up on it and just ended up floating in life. I’ve looked back a few times in life and wonder if I’d done the army, how much money I’d have saved up in 10 years. Then could have left and pumped it all into buying a house up front.

But yes, you miss out on the freedom – which is why I didn’t do it in the first place – and still would probably not choose to go back in time and forgo the freedom. And if you’re good at uni studies, well, maybe that is the best option.

Just saying I always look back at that decision I made back then and wonder about how much I’d have saved in ten years if I’d taken the army route….

    (I’m in Oz too…)

Within the 10 years you’d earn a good amount over 700K if you saved like a tight ass, but the sacrifice of civilian life and just enjoying that freedom is huge. If you don’t mind me asking where has life lead you in terms of your occupation @Wholfin? It really is a tough decision when you can envision success for both options!!

Go in the army. Time flies by quick. Those 10 years are nothing. You won’t be missing out on much.
