For the former, specific focused assassinations, including potential heirs… that way you snip political dynasties. For the second, cut off from supplies the areas that are densely populated with those people (food, water, electricity, gasoline, sewage, trash collection) and introduce stuff like cholera. Box them in, blow bridges, bottle them up, and let them die. Maybe allow some food supplies into such cities, but poison the food.

And I think there is a number of shrewd manipulating people desiring to piggyback and direct the oncoming backfire in the direction they desire…

But I don’t think such radical measures are needed.. yet. Limit to simple traps first, like the one breaking the door soon falls though floor(on camera) to basement, where he absolutely accidentally falling right on gas tank and short circuits some electricity.

Afterwards, you armed with good lawyer send request to police department demanding ample compensation for your damaged property and reimbursement for all guns and ammo you claim destroyed in resulting fire and explosion. Also, don’t forget compensation for moral damage caused by fact of policemen ignoring constitution.

If you wanna be more cruel, you can always have bath of acid (for “homemade halvanics”) in basement instead…
