    http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=56874

This article came out on comic book resources today and the writer, who to me comes off as a white knight, totally uses Sarkeesian tactics to call people misogynists.

Basically if you didn’t read the article he is calling people trolls who think there is more then one Captain Marvel, this on the heels of the Marvel announcing the Captain Marvel movie. There is Shazam who was originally called Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell who was the first Captain Marvel in the Marvel universe. There were a few other people to be Captain Marvel after Mar-Vell died and then right now there is Carol Danvers the current Captain Marvel who used to be Ms. Marvel. Now there are people who like to consider Shazam the real Captain Marvel or Mar-Vell the real Captain Marvel. Many people still think of Danvers as Ms. Marvel and not the true Captain Marvel. Well this guy basically says anyone who refers to these multiple characters all as Captain Marvel is a misogynist. Yup that’s right. You want Shazam, Mar-Vell, and Carol to be called Captain Marvel? Misogyny. You still refer to Carol as Ms. Marvel? Misogyny. You consider Shazam the true Captain Marvel? Misogyny. I know this is an opinion piece, but to throw accusations out there like that is pretty unprofessional and if carried over into other topics it can de rail entire discussions. I mean think about it, this guy took an issue of what super hero fan boys want to refer to as Captain Marvel and turned it into a gender issue. Just like Sarkeesian this guy took something that wasn’t an issue, cherry picked a few things and this created a “controversy” I shouldn’t be surprised though. This is the site that had a women writer write a piece about how they was upset at the last Image Expo because too many white people were on stage during a panel.

A funny bit too is that the December issue of Multiversity is takes place on Earth 5 aka Thunder World and will feature the classic Marvel family and best of all Shazam won’t be called Shazam. Nope he is once again called Captain Marvel in this issue so by this guys logic DC comics must hate women for not calling him Shazam lol.

He admits to there having been 7 other Cpt. Marvels.. its ignoring facts to make a point. I dont deny that Danvers is A captain marvel but not THE one and only.
Its like declaring that Christian Bale is the one and only Batman. It just doesnt work like that simply because you made a statement on the internet..
Give it 5 years before the marvel movies start gender-bending superheroes to appeal to a broader range of feminist morons

That is what many of their writers like to do. Ignore facts to make points to benefit feminazi’s. The funny thing is sites like this go on about how female writers need to be on more books, especially female heroes, because there is this huge market for them and women aren’t being represented in comics enough. Yet when the Captain Marvel series with Carol launched in 2012 it was written by a woman and it was canceled after only 17 issues. The series was relaunched with a new issue 1 this year with the same female writer. Nothing about that in the article and a few weeks ago when She Hulk was canceled a writer acted like a child and just went off about how the sales model for comics is flawed. Just wait until they start to use the “if this female superhero movies doesn’t make $1 billion it is misogyny” lol. However over at DC all of their big female Superheros: Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Batwoman, and Supergirl haven’t had to be relaunched since the new 52 started in 2011. Marvel does love to pander so that wouldn’t surprise me if they did something like that. All good with me though. Marvel hasn’t been the same since their movies took off and I am a huge DC fan and DC does not pander 🙂
