There was another thread talking about this very topic, but I wanted to expand my view on this a little more.

At least while I’m young, I prefer living in the city. Preferably, very large cities such as NYC.

    My reasoning for this is:

    1. Employers in bigger cities are more apt to hire younger people.

I’m in my twenties and most employers when it comes to higher paying jobs at least, dismiss me outright because of my age. There are more job opportunities for younger men out in cities, because we’re willing to do pretty much any job to get hired. Especially the s~~~ty jobs that don’t require much skill if we’re desperate enough.

Most of us are also willing to work on holidays and overtime. You just don’t have those types of opportunities in rural areas.

    2. There’s more entertainment options.

For most men, including MGTOWs, we enjoy sex, drinking, staying out late with friends, etc. While you can do those same things in rural areas, options like that are very limited. Not to mention you have to deal with stricter laws regarding alcohol and bars/restaurants close very, very, early. Unless you’re more of an outdoors-man like I am, you’d get bored really quick.

    3. Better access to high speed Internet.

I don’t know about any of you, but my job requires me to have an Internet connection. I couldn’t make money without it. I also apply to jobs constantly in search of something better. Plus, I watch a lot of porn so there’s that. Haha.

    4. Cities provide a better way to “ghost” it.

Living right in the middle of the city allows you to blend in better. You’re not seen as a threat to SJWs or the government. Living off the grid makes you a bigger target for the government to harass. They want people connected to the grid because it gives them more tax revenue.

If you live in the city, you just appear as another number to them. You’re not on their target list.

As far as rural areas are concerned, I think they’re great. Here are some of the reasons why:

    1. If you’re older, getting a job in rural areas is very easy.

Rural areas are a great place to live. However, I don’t think it’s the best place for younger people like me to live in. At least not unless you already have a steady job there.

In rural areas especially, employers tend to highly favor older people over younger people. If you’re older, even if you don’t have much job experience, in many cases, you can get a job very easily in rural areas.

    2. Rural areas provide peace and quite.

I love rural areas for this exact reason. Rural areas are just more peaceful in general. There’s no traffic, no annoying tourists, or SJWs (well there are some SJWs, but not that many). This is invaluable to MGTOWs because we’re away from most of the insanity society brings if we choose to live in a rural area.

    3. You can do almost anything you want on your property.

Living in rural areas means you almost never have to deal with s~~~ty neighbors. Neighbors are annoying as f~~~ as far as I’m concerned.

This means you can practically do anything you wanted on your property.

This also means in most cases, you don’t have to adhere to building codes/gain permits for every little thing imaginable. Which is awesome as well.

    4. Living in rural areas is very cheap compared to cities.

Unless you’re running a large farm or business out in the country somewhere, living out in rural areas is very cheap.

Hell, you could even build a small log cabin out on your property, dig a well, build your own private sewage system, and install solar panels on the roof.

If I did this, it would only cost me about $700? per month.

Overall, I think both options are a really great choice. It just depends on your preference and circumstances on which one you choose.

Obviously, I think young people such as myself should live in the city at least until they’ve built up enough money for retirement. Then afterwards, once they get older, they can retire in a more rural area.

That’s what I plan on doing for the time being.

Sorry about the bold formatting. I don’t know if it’s me or just something wrong with how I did it. Either way, it’s not that big of a deal. I just did the bold formatting for easier reading.

Well I grew up/have grown up in Alabama. I love the “country” as we like to call it. My ideal place would be somewhere right outside the city limits. Maybe 15-20 minutes outside of town would be perfect.

The city is nice but i just prefer the country rural areas. Plus I gotta have a nice place to ride my pickup trucks around in. Can’t go mudding in the city

I grew up in the country and while I love it, I prefer bigger cities. Mainly because of the job opportunities and better Internet alone.
