Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein reportedly personally approved the FBI raid Monday of President Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen.

The New York Times reported that Rosenstein signed off on the raid, in which the FBI seized emails, tax documents and records, some of them related to Cohen’s payment to adult-film star Stormy Daniels.

Why is it that nobody seems upset about the DOJ, FBI, et al. wasting tax dollars on a witch hunt? That’s the most egregious part, to me.

The only positive in this raid is that it is an omission that Mueller, Rosenstein and the rest of the deep state have found nothing on President Trump in the two and a half years they have been searching. They have destroyed attorney-client privilege, which is a major step in the destroying themselves.

Also, these continued actions have shown that in all likelihood the FBI and DOJ are corrupt to the core and beyond salvaging.

This witchhunt is sedition and open rebellion in the form of an ongoing public coup attempt of a lawfully elected president.

This is looking like the situation will end one of two ways. President Trump will be forced to become a dictatorship to stop this coup attempt, or the coup succeeds, which will either spark a civil war/rebellion either at the succeed, or soon after when those whom committed the coup restrict freedom of speech and attempt to disarm those parts of the population that support President Trump.

There are three rules for overthrowing a leader that these individuals have forgotten.

One. The conspiracy is kept secret.

Two. The conspiracy has only one shot.

Three. One never goes after a successful leader, because the leader will have the support of the people on his side. Removing a successful leader is a quick way to start a civil war because the people will have seen personal success with the leader and they see the leader being disposed as an crime of treason both against the leader and against the people.

I think it part of a drag net to catch President Trump up on campaign finance violation and possible obstruction charges. If they can tie the payments to Stormy to close to the time he officially announced his candidacy, an argument could be made (not by me) that Trump was using “campaign” donations/money to silence people/events that would harm his run.

The way they get to the campaign money is because someone else paid the hush money and that payment is simply a campaign donation given straight from a donor to a third party in order to help the candidate. This is what they jammed John Edwards up on when he ran for president.

Some good-government groups welcomed the Justice Department’s decision to charge Edwards in a six-count indictment that says he helped solicit what prosecutors called nearly $1 million in illegal contributions from political donors. Prosecutors said his motive was to hide his mistress, Rielle Hunter, and her pregnancy from the public and media.

The payments, which covered Hunter’s living, medical and other expenses, are at the heart of the dispute. Prosecutors say that they were campaign contributions because they were meant to prevent Edwards’s 2008 presidential bid from collapsing if the affair was discovered.

Trump made the payment thru an attorney with (supposedly) the attorneys own money, not Trumps. That was so Trump could later claim he has not made any payments to these bimbos. Plausible deniability. Probably wasn’t even aware of these nuances of campaign finance laws. May come back to cause him some trouble.

Don’t know what’s true and what isn’t with all these moving parts, but I believe that is the working theory of the violation that is being played out right.

How can a woman be expected to be happy with a man who insists on treating her as if she were a perfectly normal human being.

I don’t think it will work, and I don’t think the ‘deep state’ thinks it will either. However, I don’t think that’s the only thing they are after. Cohen has been Trump’s lawyer for a long time, and no one would be surprised if Cohen has records on other skeleton’s closet. I doubt anything illegal, but still dirt. And since the FBI will leak whatever they have to the press, dirt is better than some minor campaign violation on a Trump aid.

There won’t be anything that will deter Trump’s base, but it could help in sure the Left base and some in the middle to come out and vote.

The reality of the current political market is that although conservatives hold the presidency and congress, the progressive hold on education and media is much more powerful. It’s happen repeatedly, the left can break any law they want and it won’t make it different since they have a lock on the mind of the voters. Any challenge to that is swiftly shutdown.

Ok. Then do it.

I agree narwhal, getting dirt in order to leak and spread it around……is a very plausible motive. A technical violation of some sort would be a nice cherry on top……should they find it, but the dirt is good and can be used anytime.

Any such accusations can be claimed to be fabricated (and likely are) given the massive conflicts of interest involved in this witchhunt.

You keep moving the goal posts. Originally it was that Russia did nothing, and no one associated with Trump was involved in any way with the Russians. What was found a bunch of people involved with Trump had issues, and a number pleaded guilty. What is seen now, after denials of Russia involved, was that Russia DID try to do things. What things are being reduced to is that TRUMP himself didn’t now at all. So, if you have his entire administration go down in smoke, but Trump knew nothing of any of it, because he was ignorant of what is going on, that is a witchhunt? There are other things besides Trump here. But, if you want to make it about Trump alone, then you have joint a cult of personality, where the status of your leader is all that matters. At that way, you stop going your own way, and are a member of a cult.

In this, this desire to protect Trump so much, the idea is to throw out an investigation of foreign involvement in America politics, which makes America less safe. You are seeking to make America less safe, to protect the reputation of Trump, because you need to have a despotic leader save you, as the ONLY answer. And you are going your own way? Michael Cohen was stupid for what he did. Even if there is nothing else, it was suspect. As per word of this, Trump says he didn’t even know about the NDA, but there was a spot on it for him to sign it. The whole thing with Stormy, which triggered this, was that Stormy’s side said the NDA is not valid, and she wanted to tell her story about an affair she claimed she had with Trump. That is the big deal. All this because Cohen was an idiot over this.
