Link for 10 life lessons we can learn from Rocky Balboa

    1. Winning isn’t everything.
    2. Being down doesn’t mean you’re out.
    3. Find teachers you can learn from and stick with them.
    4. Victory delayed is all the sweeter.
    5. Your enemy is your friend.
    6. Know when to quit.
    7. “It ain’t about how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.”
    8. “It’s your right to listen to your gut; it ain’t nobody’s right to say no.”
    9. There comes a time when you need to step aside for a new generation.
    10. Chicken-chasing is an undervalued component of a good workout regimen.

If you guys wish to read info on the 10 lessons in detail, go on the link above. The thing is that Sylvester Stallone went through hard times in his life before he even finally got success and making it big with that first Rocky movie which he acted and directed and written. The thing is though is that you just have to be creative in trying to make your own opportunities in life because opportunities will not knock on your door. But now it looks like society is turning into so much sh*t that some things are just out of your control. You should just do your thing in life and that’s it since I am sure that there are people here also who were really burned from relationships in the past and it is going to take many years to recover from it. The quote “It ain’t about how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” could be good if the hits are not that traumatizing and people would help you have some closure from it all. But I have also seen a person in my life who used that quote and this person is not the most nicest person in the world and this person might actually be one of the persons who would hit hard for the person’s own personal gain. So overall, what are you guys opinions on Rocky’s wisdom? Is it even practical in this day and age or is he too much of an old man that he doesn’t realize that the youth now do not even have as many opportunities as they use to in the past?

Rocky is an inspiring movie character. True motivation can only come from within our heart. People don’t do any thing to improve their lives until they are ready to change. Great post. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the reply. Well one reason why I was a bit cynical in this post is because I know that a lot of people here have their own problems that they have to deal with in life, and I do not think that I can relate to people by saying that to do what Rocky Balboa says and you are going to have a great life. In other words, one reason why I had it in this sort of tone is because I wish to make a discussion. If I would of been all flowers and tell people to tough it up in life like rocky says, I am sure that people would only agree and there wouldn’t be much of a discussion. Since we are in a forum where a lot of people here are cynical of society in general, maybe I can relate to people more. But at the same time, I still brought out Rocky’s words of wisdom so it is not like I am trying to be very negative. At this point, I just want the simple life and I might pull a hail mary here in there in life to try to make it big(maybe with entrepreneurship or even creating some content that I can profit off of), and that is about it.

I definitely need to re-watch this series. I watched it as a kid and it had so many motivational moments in it as well as red pill moments. This was one of the red pill moments.

I am assuming that you are quoting Drago the Russian from Rocky 4. I still gave you a star.

Rocky has always been very inspirational for me since early childhood, the motivational montages make you want to break your limits.

I never get tired of watching Rocky..I watched Creed recently and I got inspired watching that one as well. Maybe because Rocky still had a major role in it. I think the quotes you took from Rocky are great. I think many of us identify with him because the story is so true to life.

Only saw ‘Rocky Balboa’ recently: great, great movie. As good as the first (and better than the other sequels). That speech to his son, and the stuff he says to the board to get his licence back, pop up in a lot of motivational compilations.

    Haven’t seen Creed yet.
