There has been a rumor circulating in the news media and on the internet that the “ANTIFA” assholes are headed to Gettysburg for the purposes of disrupting the July 4th anniversary events, desecrate Confederate Monuments and harassing southern civil war re-enactors.

Personally, I hate Gettysburg as it tells a very one sided story of what happened there and why the insurrection occurred in the first place. However, the little snowflake pussies of the National Park Service cannot be trusted to prevent vandalism from occurring to the few Confederate monuments that reside at the battlefield site.

I was headed up to Harper’s Ferry tomorrow anyway, G’burg is only another hour North of there. So I’m going to motor on up there on my Harley. I can’t be everywhere at once so I will plant myself under the shade of the trees adjacent to the Virginia Memorial, with the statue of General Lee astride his horse Traveler. There I will sit and watch what unfolds, if anything.

This evening I opened the gun safe, surveyed the small arms within, reached in and hefted my reproduction .44 Remington Army cap and ball revolver. I thought how fitting it would be to shoot some ANTIFA limp dick with a civil war era weapon should he attempt to deface General Lee’s statue.

But like all law abiding conservatives, I will opt to ride into this potential battle… naked, unarmed, and unafraid. I haven’t enjoyed the feeling of smashing in some asshole’s face with my gloved fist in quite a few years. As I recall it always gave me great pleasure, as I’m sure it will again.

Assholes who think they can erase American history with their opinions are a sad, undereducated lot. A baseball bat should suffice.

    A baseball bat should suffice.

I prefer a wooden one myself, as aluminum becomes slippery when wet. Plus, with the wooden one, the experience remains engrained… well, in the wood grain.

The answer is NO. “I could but I won’t”. Memini murum!

I give you full respect at as a Patriot. While the Confederates were dead wrong on the slavery issue, they were correct in their belief in state powers written within the Constitution. It was a war that Americans as a whole both won and lost. The debate on slavery had haunted us even when we were writing the Constitution but there was no way we could fight the greatest power on earth and have a civil war at the same time. So we tabled the issue for later and at the greatest cost America has ever seen. I see both the Union and Confederate soldier as heroes where both sides were right and wrong. We HAD to have that war but as the song “For what it’s worth” says: “Nobody’s right when everybody’s wrong”! It gave freedom (at least on paper) to the black man and that is great but it took away freedoms states once had.

Expect problems. Personally, I would be armed but show as much restraint as I could. I would have a friend recording any assault on me. They can spit on you, insult you or whatever but if you are threatened to the point that you are in fear of life or limb, you have every right to defend yourself. Only if assaulted would I draw my firearm. You are legally allowed to be armed in a National Park if your Carry Permit is recognized. ANTIFA may be insane anarchists but do not take them lightly. Just be sure to cover your ass.

Sparky, I think you are absolutely correct on your assessment across the board. Slavery had to be abolished, but as you astutely pointed out, the conflict was a war between cultures and about states rights as much as anything else. A war I fear is likely to be repeated with the current polarization of our country.

CNN (Communist News Network) and MSNBC have been running a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week bashing of our President for the past 2 years. They are going to be the idiots that light the fuse for this thing if they don’t knock it off.

The next civil war we have in this country will not be about race, it will be a cultural war between the real fascists i.e. the alt progressive left who believe they should have complete control over the expression of thoughts and make all the rules for the rest of us and think that this country can afford to give free s~~~ away to everybody who is not a white male.

Meanwhile the other half of the country believe in individual freedoms, accountability, working for a living and our one true God and savior Jesus Christ. I have no doubts about which side the Navy, Marines, and most of the Army will fight for. I’m not so sure about the Air Force as I have found their officer ranks to be comprised mostly of bureaucrats. I don’t trust them any more than I do the IRS.

Thanks for your comment and good luck!
