Ты бы видел как у нас по Риге херачат скорые туда сюда, там пилоты асы.

You should’ve seen how our Paramedic crews ‘fly’ in Riga, like Formula 1.

Nice link. There is a Seinfeld joke somewhere in here.

I don’t think he is going to get the Seinfeld reference–I do. But I have two questions:

    a) where was the fire?
    b) aren’t other vehicles required to pull over and let an emergency vehicle pass?

I even don’t know what the Seinfeld about. So, honestly, I didn’t understant Faust.
Some drivers have no space to give a way for the truck. You see it by yourself (Yekaterinburg has the narrowest roads among other million cities), the others are just s~~~heads. I can’t remeber such disrespect toward all emergency services in the past.
I think it’s a kind of social protest or something. I’m not sure. In fact, people really tired of the Putin’s government , even they don’t quite understand who is the reason.

At least most of drivers tries hard.

Seinfeld was an ninties comedy TV show about four yuppies living in NYC. One episode had one of the crazier characters wind up on the back of a fire engine, and he did not know what he was doing.

The episode is season 7, episode 7, The Secret Code.

Here is the scene I was talking about:

Sorry man—Faust is referring to an episode of Seinfeld in which the character Kramer was driving the back end of a hook/ladder fire truck.

I was just looking at some pictures of your beautiful city—especially the Church on the Blood, gorgeous really remarkable.

    One thing though—I hate snow.

I could be like him, really. So I’m the bastard who has interrupted the firefighters dynasty (my grandfather and father were firefighters). 😀 Here is nothing funny, I know.

Excellent. I also like this view of the truck and video.

Hey Suggestius, What are those two pipe lines going over both the road and the railroad? See the video where I marked it.

I see allot of exposed pipes (above ground) in videos from Russia, including small pipes ran above ground in apartment complexes.

Here everything is underground, things like the Edison steam heat delivery system in New York, all our pipelines, fiber optics, gas companies, just about everything except electricity, but not including the cities with underground power lines, even the trains run underground and are called subways.

All your surface pluming is something that always perplexed me in all the videos I’ve seen.

    This pic is better.
Show, winter and vodka are a part of the Russian philosophy of life like English five o’clock.

Tower, if someone would ask me to describe the Russia I could think for a while and answered him: ‘The place where logic makes no sense’.
Those two pipelines are a part of the heat distibution system. There is a boiling water under a high pressure (you know better how it works) Mostly it’s seen at industrial areas and at living districts which were built in the 40-50’s Since the 60’s pipes are laid underground. The small yellow pipes for gas distribution. They are always on top. It’s the common sense.
We have a subway too. It’s a small of course, not comparable with the Moscow one, only 9 stations. Instead of this we have many trams.
Btw, the most weird subway is situated in Volgograd, the former Stalingrad. For unknown reasons they put trams underground. I think this is the only subway of this kind around the world.

In Florida if an emergency vehicle is on the road, lights/siren–whether going the same direction as you, or the opposite direction–if you fail to pull of the road—your licence can be yanked.

The same in Russia. Only a tiny problem is here. Traffic police don’t give a f~~~! They raid sometimes like this . I have no idea what is the point. Government has decreased the number of police officers to 2/3. Moreover, since today you CAN officially park your car on a lawn in Yekaterinburg (in fact across the Russia) because there is no a federal law anymore that prohibits this.
    I feel myself like I’m at a mad tea-party.
