I have been a vampire for more than two years but my new bid welcomes me with most weekends off in the early day. I still expect long time hours as we are understaffed and overworked. I should still be driving 50-60 hours a week as I am replacing a female driver that has burned out. I may burn out as well but I need the money right now. Our greatest problem is our buses as they have some safety issues and we need a new fleet of buses. They look good but a painted turd is still a turd. I just keep driving as that is my profession.

Day at a time. It’s all we get.

So glad we had our talk, I really needed it and will never forget. I hope to talk to you again as I have a week off. One day is more than enough for me. One day can make or break a man.

I am also part Welsh but know little of who we are besides being Celtics. You had an accent that reminded me of the Irish and Scotts and knew I was not talking to an Englishman. I was surprised by my own ignorance. We know so little of the Welsh from this side of the pond. The closest I got to Wales was London but I wish to learn more. I didn’t even know I was Welsh till I got older, my mom had me thinking I was Irish. I still celebrate St. Patrick’s Day but give that day to all Celtics. I make Sheppard’s pie and wash it down with Guinness. Perhaps you can suggest something better. I do what I can in my ignorance. The Welsh have great musicians like Stereophonics and a bagpipe better than the Scots. This is the heritage I know the least about but I try my best. I do not know of any day given to the Welsh but I do know they are kind and spiritual. I know there are mountains in the north of Wales but the south is different in culture and land. I feel like Wales has lost much of their culture but perhaps I am wrong, I know you have your own language. I need you to show me what it means to be Welsh as I don’t have a clue beyond my research. For all I know, we are Celts that never sailed and had our butts kicked because we didn’t.

Try driving the same rout 12-15 times till 3-4:00 AM day after day. You can lose your mind within months. I don’t just talk to myself, I argue with myself. I am a caffeine addict and also have Energy drinks but it is better than an accident. MGTOW’s think I am insane and I suppose they are right but they have no idea what my job does to me. I will probably die holding a steering wheel. After that, I know I went to the wrong place if someone tells me to keep doing it forever.

Heads are rolling in both supervision and drivers and it is now what we call a job shakedown. I am froggie enough to do a double-jump. In my one week vacation, I have been given two bids and took them both as they both looked better than the previous. We bid by tenure and I went from the 32nd in tenure to the 15th bid. I still get weekends off but start and end later than my last bid. It’s difficult to adjust my sleep hours at this point as they keep changing. However, I think I will be much better off in the long run, as there are no more long runs. I will get plenty of hours without driving till 3, 4 or even 7:00AM. It takes something out of you when one does that. I will still get weekends off unless there is a major event, something I have missed for more than two years. I know it all sounds confusing as it is not easy to explain, I just keep on driving…
