Everyone (most of them anyway) is young enough to be my Grandchild.
I spent many years in the workforce and am not aware of how younger people interact….
I just very recently retired (end of June) and enrolled in a couple of fun classes that I never had the time for
when I was much younger: Welding and Autoshop.
    Several things I noticed:
(1.) Today’s College kids are in some ways very weird to when I was their age…
(2.) Politeness or Civility is Archaic with these assholes
(3.) The snowflakes are normally on their phones oblivious as they are walking”: to their surroundings…
(4.) I got a bit of a kick out of riding my bike with Straight Pipes onto the campus and scaring these little s~~~s as I would pass them and cut in front of them (pull in the clutch and pop the throttle for a little noise)
(5.) Most guys who saw my bike loved it and said so..the chicks gave me looks that could kill…but I noticed their “high beams” were on..and sometimes a damp patch near their crotch when I revved the engine a bit….maybe that is why they were so p~~~ed…their bodies betrayed them in front of an ancient Geezer…”Beats The F~~~ Out Of Me” (BTFOOM)…
    Anyway…this is my new reality.
    No longer working
Going back to school and taking some fun classes
Riding my motorcycles and hanging around some bike shops and chatting with the Mechanics
And hanging out at my Micro-Brewery (a side job/business….unrelated to what I retired at)

How can I top this and p~~~ off my sisters politically correct friends….? I have though about this: maybe buy a controlling interest in a Whore House in Nevada…at least the fringe benefits would be very pleasant…..and p~~~ off the liberal bitches…

    Sounds awesome.
Go for that whorehouse project… it sounds like you’d be a natural.

I notice similar things around here with the new hires who are college-aged. Very different upbringing, far less humanized.

Saw a “back to school” article in the newspaper the other day and there was a pic of kids and half of them were either looking at their phones are huddled in a group looking at someone’s phone.

Very few people below the age of 30 know how to strike up a conversation with a random stranger or have the social skills to interact in public. It’s sad.

Trying to bang a 20year old is torturous; the conversation dies out almost immediately.

Get a young girlfriend. You are probably p~~~ing them off a lot already by having time, money and being single.

Congrats on your retirement. Im a few years off but getting ready. I finished my degree while in my 40s. I recall some damn nice eye candy in those classes. Might as well enjoy. If you get a good lay out of it, consider it a perk. More “bang” for your educational buck!

Just be aware that you are operating behind enemy lines when you are on campus. As many men have learned about college: innocence does not prevent conviction when the crimes are imaginary.

Welding and Autoshop sounds fun. I’ve noticed a big difference in the next generation when I was in college about 10 years ago.

The Smart Phone has changed an entire generation…and not for the better.

Be careful out there, we all know how generation snowflake likes to make up “allegations.”

I was interested in a bike repair course but haven’t done anything about it yet. Maybe next year.

I retired 5 years ago and it is blissful. If anyone says “work forever”, they are blue pilled mangina’s trying to fulfill the feminist desire for men to work until the grave.

It took me 2 years to adjust to not working. Being free in the middle of the day when almost all other men are out working. The supermarket consists of women and old men mixed with a rare man.

Been through a few projects so far. Started a band. It came out very well. A very good sounding Blues band. Then I got into sailing and recently I have gotten back into the research I did when I was working…but only a few hours a day. Some courses are required so I take them online at MIT EdX. It’s MIT and full of totally free online courses on everything.

My research just requires a good computer and an internet connection so I have few expenses. My house and car are paid off.

My retirement is forever till I die. I intend to live for a long time.

On your observations about modern students: I took a night class in one of the manual trades a couple of years back because I wanted to get better at a hobby (and have a back-up skill that I may be able to turn into a business). I was the oldest student in that section (instructor called me “young man” because I was 3 months younger than he was), and I was also the top student in the class (aced every portion of the material for that semester’s curriculum AND half of what would normally be taught in the following one). I did have some previous self-taught skill in the field, but the main things were that I showed up early, got started right away, stayed focused, listened to feedback from the instructor, and used every minute of each class to practice — and that was after working all damn day. A big motivating factor: I was paying over $900 to be there, while almost all of the other students were there on a free ride via state workforce development grants — and they’d come in late, do a half-assed job, quit after practicing one skill rather than using the entire class time, goof around on their phones, and socialize.

Now that I’m divorced, and my kids are late teens doing their own thing, I’ve got lots of free time. I want to take a basic auto body. I’m pretty decent with the mechanicals, but I know zero about fixing dents and rust etc. I want to be self sufficient working on my own car, and knowing these trades is a universal money making skill. Plus, fixing stuff and getting good and dirty is primal masculinity at its finest.

    Sovereignty above all else.
