I figured today would be a great day to read up on the declaration of independence. So everyone take time out to read the document that is the reason why celebrate this great holiday.

You guys had the sense back then to write a proper constitution with rights of the citizen laid down, whereas in the UK we are still ‘subjects’ of the Crown who has been a woman for a very long time. Our ‘rights’ are whatever the government, sanctioned by the Crown, says they are.
UK still to this day has no written constitution.

Your Second Amendment is my particular favourite.

By now you will figure out I’m a believer in the Republic idea. i.e vote in the leader not by birthright.

Your Second Amendment is my particular favourite.

    I exercise this one daily.

My favorite too with a caveat.
Without the 2nd the 1st is useless and just so many words.

I believe that the 1st is super important perhaps the most important but without the 2nd the 1st would have gone the way of the Dinosaurs a long time ago.

True story, way back when a merchant Captain asked Madison if he had the right to have cannon on his ship to defend against pirates. Madison’s reply was basically, dude, duh? Did you not read the f~~~ing document?

Cheers, my brother from another mother.
My oldest brother lives on your side of the pond. So, if you ever come across a yank that is as smart ass as me, please tell him howdy.

I’m a huge fan of the 2nd Amendment as well. I just finished watching YouTube vids of American citizens exercising their rights to open carry. I love watching the cops freak out…cuff the law abiding citizen…only to receive a lecture on the law by the citizen. “Well sir, you didn’t break any law so you’re free to go”. No s~~~. LOL.

    The answer, is no.
