I am not a car guy. Didn’t grow up in a mechanical environment. How much is this guy’s ex’s worth?

I don’t know the year but probably 2015-16. 70,000km.

Just looking for ballpark if there are any bros who buy/bought cars. I know the dealership is gonna super low ball him.

She pays just shy of $800 a month on payments for the car. Guessing it would be at minimum five years worth of payments. Then there would be a buyout. Guess what? That monthly payment is almost the full amount of “We give money to hard done by moms, no, all moms” government “incentives”. Coincidence?

In the states we have all types of sites that you can find the value of your used car. These same sites, or similar ones, may also be adapted for your country.

Awakened, thanks for the response. When I checked out a Canadian website, they eventually wanted my name and number. F~~~ them. And f~~~ that.

I think this car cost like $45,000 CDN! Maybe 50.

The trade in, the money, all the horses~~~ is for her to GET THE F~~~ GONE! But, it is my friend that will suffer. He is going to pay in the end.

Your friend should be able to call the bank or Insurance Co., and get the current wholesale, retail, loan, and trade in values. These are the best sources for accuracy. He could even call a bank that he does business with, and is just inquiring about potentially a used Subaru, and the loan dept. should be able to easily answer his questions regarding value.

However taking it to a dealership to sell outright (not as a trade in) you can generally knock $10-15k off of any advertised price. so they may offer $14.5k to $20k if fortunate

Based on the current economic downturn in Alberta, your friend is going to lose money on any deal made. If the car is his ex’s, make her do the leg work to get rid of it, as you know sure as s~~~ smells she will blame him for selling it on her.
