This is so true. Weddings, even before I swallowed the pill, pretty much suck. OK, you can have some sport there, but you really don’t need to whole f~~~ing show.

And – lately I am seeing funerals to be the real gateways to joy. Lost my mother in June, there really was nothing sad about this. She certainly was going to a better place, even if it was to nowhere. Everyone had good things to say about her, and some of us even had some future benefits to look forward to. No sadness. A celebration of life and joyful send-off to something better.

But weddings? I have been reduced to “why?” And vagina is just not enough of an answer.

The first time I realized my sister was a AWALT was when she was planning her wedding. 10 f~~~ing bridesmades and 10 groomsmen. Of course all the caddy shrews were trying to get attention for themselves, which made my sister, who is an anesthesiologist who finished at the top of her class, throw a tantrum like a 12 year old.
