Rape is overblown

I think we would all agree getting raped is a bad thing.
But it isn’t the worst thing in the world.

I’ve been on the receiving end of rape situations several times, from women. Each episode was disturbing, I felt violated, but I got up the next morning and moved on with my life.

I’m pointing this out because of the current popular fixation with rape and the invention of rape culture. When other people start to see rape everywhere and define their identities by it, I start to believe it’s not really about rape, but about asserting a pretend special victim status–a status which does not exist, nor is it desirable.

Rape is bad, but is not the supreme suffering. There are worse things in life.
It would be great if this were taken in perspective and became part of the narrative.

True rape exists but more false claims of rape are being made by the day as a way of painting a general negative picture of men.

My opinion: There is a huge difference between rape and sex you regret in the morning. What I consider actual rape is a situation where you are physically dominated or have a gun to your head and you have absolutely no choice but rape or death. Now, based on that definition, actual rape is probably 99% women getting raped and I have no idea what that would do you mentally.

But now the definition of rape has been changed to sex you regret in morning or sex when you were drunk (only if you are woman). THAT “rape” is overblown. But you put yourself in the situation and you know, deep down, that you could have stopped it but a part of you didn’t want to. Even if you regret it, it wasn’t a life or death situation.

I’ve had women either riding me or giving me some morning helmet (Spaceb~~~~ Movie reference) while I was asleep only to wake up just before climax. One just wanted to get off. I am very sorry about the violations you incurred. I can only imagine the horror of it. You appear to be very flippant about the atrocities you were subjected to. Was there anal penetration of any kind? Was one of those Jumbo Hot Dogs forced down your throat? You might be in a form of denial or have pushed the events out of your conscious mind. Talk therapy with good psychiatrist might help. either that or go to Clown School. You might be able to turn this into a growth experience

Haha, thanks Johnny. I had another post where I referenced clown school (“Psycho farting clowns”).

My point is these things happen. The experiences should not be downplayed, but neither should they be over-played. As long as you are all right, you dust yourself off and move on with life. Don’t hang on to it and allow it to become your identity.

I don’t really care to belabor my own experiences. There was a post a month or so ago where guys talked openly about times women had forced themselves on men. I see the principles of rape applied to various situations, but agree with Tax Guy that sex vs death is the purest and original definition. Obviously there are also other definitions of non-consensuality, like sex with a minor, etc.

That’s true Ranger! Very rarely do they initiate any form of sex out of pleasure for a man. Either it’s for making you mad, cover something up, or for them. Men’s pleasure, emotions are almost an afterthought.
