So I was having beers + dinner by myself at a bar after work when I saw my old high school friend eating @ place next door.

Said what’s up and bought him a beer (his wife was eating with friends). During the beer convo told him I was single then I asked him about marriage and his whole face dropped into sadness. He was staring at the bottom of the pint telling me how they bought this big house before the real estate crash. Planning to have kids, settle down etc but got foreclosed etc. Said the wife blamed him for it.

He said it felt good to vent and offered to buy the next round. He started to leave the bar and I asked him where he is headed? He told me “MY WIFE HOLDS MY WALLET”. My jaw dropped. He just shuffled away.

Being the asshole I am I followed him to make sure I get my beer he promised! So I run into the sour face wife asking the husband “why are you drinking with him?”. I interrupt with “because I was friends with him before he met you”. The husband just looked at the ground. She pulls out $3 and hands it to him. I told her “little doggy needs his ID card also so he can buy beers”. Her friend laughed and we walked away.

Regardless he finished the next beer real quick and ran back to the wife next afterwards..He offered to share #’s but I declined knowing I will never see him again. Told him to never let a woman hold your wallet and manhood in her purse ever again.. Sad!

Sometimes I think it would be easier knowing he was dead than going through that.

I just couldn’t live like that anymore. There’s your suicide rate right there.

Why the f~~~ are we here ……. not to live like that surly 😯

I would have asked why she’s doing that – just to hear the hamster wheel squeal.

In Soviet Union lots of men were alcoholics out of desperation, so it was somewhat common for their wives to demand and hold all their money so they wouldn’t spend it all on vodka, because wages were so low. That’s the only legitimate reason I can come up with. And I don’t think this was the reason with your friend. But what else could it be? I’m drawing a blank

I’m assuming that’s a rhetorical question. We all know why…

Some people prefer to be ruled. “my better half” mentality. I ain’t ‘saving’ any man who doesn’t ask for help. Karma will smack the s~~~ out of me for forcing my ‘help’ on others who don’t ask for it.

Yeah, I mean we all know the real reason, but what reason did she give him?

Or maybe there is a logical explanation like – he was wearing shorts with no pockets or something…

I doubt he’s happy about being ruled. He’s more likely just aware of what will happen to him if he leaves her. Given what you’ve said about her i’d bite the bullet if  i were him and get out before she concocts some nefarious plan to rid herself of him with minimum fuss to her. You know…..domestic abuse accusations etc

That is one very good reason that I am and will always be a happy bachelor.

I'm married to the game, but she broke her vows.

When I tell folks that the end of the world is upon us, no one believes me.  Just more PROOF!

“My wife holds my wallet.” Even though it wasn’t meant to be, that is a great, but terrible symbolical message.  That SHE  has complete and utter control over this mans financial earnings. Oh well. Hopefully he’ll come around, if not, that is another brother lost.

Then it’s a perfect time for him to cut his losses and divorce the bitch. I’d advise him to do it now before he accumulates resources again for her to take.

When we were friends in High School he was on the swim team I was on the tennis team and we hung out after practice. Back then personality-wise a completely different person! Happy, athletic, and carefree. Neither of us had GFs so no worries in the world.

I think he married his “first”. :/

When I saw him he was at least 50 lbs overweight and depressed. We used to have six packs! Now it’s just my six pack and his keggerator.

Leave it to a woman to blame for husband for the economy doing bad lol. A wife holding her husbands wallet should be considered some form of abuse because it is. To me a wife demanding to hold her husbands wallet is no different then a husband demanding not be allowed to work.

Sounds like my blue pill friend. Before he met his girlfriend he was skinny. Not muscular, but skinny and tall. Once he started dating her he started drinking to look cool and they always go out to eat a lot so he got pretty fat. His girlfriend is now in the process of picking all his groomsmen in the event they get married, but he isn’t allowed to choose any of her bridesmaids lol.

    agreed

I blue pill friend who I have come close to ditching on numerous occasions over the past year since he got with his finance has had me round his new house. I have been round a couple of times and both times she was supposed to be out round her parents all night but of course turned up early and was frosty with me to say the least. fifa and film nights ruined as he was like a dog when his master comes in asking how her day was and following her around the place (I mean that literally as well)

he was round mine last week and all she did was text him and at one point she actually phoned him so I had to pause the xbox which I wasn’t happy about and when I asked him what she wanted he said how she was talking about how she didn’t get the food out the freezer to defrost for her dinner – seriously wtf? Can’t that s~~~ wait or just not be spoken? No she has to call to check up on him and him being the simpering fool he is he bends over for her

we are supposed to be going on a football day in a couple of weeks and he emailed me yesterday and said “I’m good for next Saturday as she is at work all day”…..errr as far as I’m concerned it was already arranged months ago and what difference does it make if she is in work or not…meaning if she was off I would have been dropped like a stone which he has done to me before. I only put up with it because we have been mates for 10 plus years now otherwise he would be told to f~~~ off

bit of a rant but f~~~ these blue pill losers
