Quitting Fakebook

I have been on fakebook since 2007. 10 f~~~ing years too long.

I’m not here to rage about how it is a disease to society, hopefully you are already aware of alot of it’s pitfalls.

The reason I never quit? Well I never really was a hardcore facey addict. I just drifted, and followed interest pages like surfing, skating, the great outdoors, and eventually just a whole heap of crap, had 235 friends of whom I would be lucky to make contact or cross paths with 5% of them over a year.

It’s a new year, time to throw out the trash!

OK so as I formed a habit of window shopping on facebook (just looking at the weird and wonderful posts of humanity, and more and more political, propaganda and advertising taking over the platform, it’s time to leave the fake building.

I have 1 brother, and a handful of good friends, our interests are best served in the real world and not the fake one.

Stories, photos and videos are best shared in the realm of flesh.

So from someone who didn’t think they were hooked, cause they just looked, it’s time for me to pull the plug on social media.

For those on the fence, who use it once in a blue moon, there is a boon.

You can ‘deactivate’ your account, effectively going ghost. The few mates you wish to be in contact with can still send you a message, your name appears greyed out. You become active when you login. Going ghost on fakebook, my first steps to quitting.

Hi Shin. Glad to read your post.
If not simply for the fact that I can see what my children and grandchildren are up to ( who live 8000 miles away from me ) I wouldn’t even be on there. I never had much interest in it in the first place and I still wonder what ‘online friends’ are for…
I enjoy looking at the picture of my kids as I miss them dearly but for the rest I click on X
Messenger works internationally so that’s easy for them to send me messages to my phone but besides all that, Skype can do better and I use it to call them any time I want for a really low fee.

I never got on Fake Book, I went straight for the intellectual smack!
Never even made a comment on Utube, for years all I did was watch the videos and not waste my time reading comments, let alone making one.

Then one day I stumbled across a MGTOW road symbol and thought to myself, hmmmmm, that looks kinda MANLY (thinking it’s about men building stuff) I knew by the symbol I wasn’t in for a barrage of all kinds of c~~~y stuff, by that time (2+ years ago) I knew how to surf the web and tell by the way a page loads just how many c~~~s are in charge of it’s scripts.

I was like Hawaiian Jim surfing around all the turds.

Anyway, It doesn’t get more intellectually stimulating, and MGTOW beach has the largest and longest waves, when it cums to female infiltration of the world wide web those places are like surfing the Aral or Dead Sea…

I mostly only use youtube and some news sites.

I think you will find a quality of life change by quitting. Women use facebook for validation so quitting and not feeding into that is a positive.

Can anyone actually explain, why it takes two weeks to get rid of that s~~~? I quit 2 years ago, haven’t missed it ever.

I still have mine.I have friends from all over that Ive worked with.I use it for recon on people I work with.But I dont post anything or get involved with the nonsense. I have “freinds” that I have never met.Complete foolishness. It was great seeing the liberals I know have there post election melt downs!!!!hahhaah

You guys are doing it wrong. It’s a tool, and like any other it can be misused and even cause you harm, but in the right hands it can do amazing things like this:

When I was in college, I had a good friend and mentor that got killed in a car accident. He left behind a 6 yr old son with a wife who had cheated on him with her thesis advisor. He had also just bought a 9mm pistol which we had planned to take out into the desert and shoot, but never got around to. He also hadn’t got around to finalizing his divorce yet, so his wife basically got everything.

Knowing his “wife” would likely dispose of the pistol as any good SJW should, I told her it meant a lot to me because we bonded over it, etc etc and managed to get it from her. My intent was to hang on to it until the son was old enough and then give it back to him Obi-wan kenobe style.

Now the facebook part. Here it is almost 20 years later, and all I have to go on is the son’s name, and of course my deceased friend’s. Don’t even remember the wife’s name. Worse yet it’s a common name.

I still punched it into facebook, and narrowed the search to the state they lived in when the Dad died. I’ll be god damn if I didn’t find the kid, all grown up now and working on an advanced degree like his Dad.

We’re now friends on facebook and I’ve started telling him the stories about me and his Dad.

Non of this would have EVER been possible without social media, and facebook in particular. So instead of blaming the tool, consider how you’re using it and make some changes.

PS: In case anyone’s curious, I haven’t told him about about the pistol just yet. I want to check him out and make sure he’s mentally stable, etc before I just turn over a firearm to him. I owe his Dad that much and more. Facebook is also very helpful in that regard.

It has been apparently proven™ that it’s IMPOSSIBLE to maintain 165 ongoing “friendships”. They actually did the math! They accounted for sleep time, laundry time and everything you BASICALLY need for a healthy/balanced life…. and then subtracted the time required to give each of those people a decent hour of your time regularly enough to care about them at all.

They concluded there is no way that any person can maintain more than 165 acquaintances at once whom they can call “friends”. And that’s an absolute max. So these people who collect 750, 1000+ friends are just silly.

I love it when people ask me if I saw something on Facebook.

I swear every damn wench I know is plugged into it 24/7 either running orbiters, attention whoring, or gossiping. They tell me about the pathetic blue pillers trying to get them to go out with them. They are all in serious relationships or married too.

Ol’ Chad who popped her cherry back in 1982 is chatting her up while you’re working.

Biggus Dickus is right about that aspect of Facebook. I’m proud of you BD one for holding the weapon and second making sure he’s responsible. Women have f~~~ed up Facebook completely.

I had an FB account for a month then decided that the superficial bulls~~~ was not for me and deleted it never regretted that decision i also never bought a smartphone i have a pc i don’t need to be online 24/7….

So i applaud your decision wise choice!
