Question about Prostitution

Does anyone know why Prostitution is illegal in the vast majority of the US except for a few counties in Nevada? I’m 26 and have never been married but it seems like the prospects of marriage these days are daunting. My situation is even worse. About a year ago I made a substantial amount of money off of a small cap biotech stock. I’ll say it’s north of a million dollars but less than 10. I also work as an engineer for a living. I’m a white guy, in shape , 6’4 , “handsome” or whatever the stereotype is and a lot of people in my life probably wonder why I’m not married. The only person that knows I have this sum of money at this point in my life is my father because I trust him. Basically I am pretty worried about getting married. One of my friends recently got divorced after being married for only 5 years and he has to pay child support and the whole nine yards. I would never want the word to get out to a potential wife that they could easily walk away with a few million if a divorce ever happened. Anyways I got sidetracked but it seems like you get screwed either way since prostitution is illegal and marriage can be a hugely risky venture these days. Even casual sex is risky because all it takes is one accusation and you’re f~~~ed. At least with a prostitute it’s blatantly obvious that they are providing sex for money so it’s the least risky. But why is prostitution legal in the vast majority of south America, Europe, etc but not America?

I get what you’re saying but the sex drive is a huge force right now since I’m in my twenties. I mean I can’t even go a couple days without beating off at least lol. I think the only way would be a high class escort. The good thing is that it’s not a huge crime I think you mostly pay a fine but still it’s stupid when most of the world paying for sex ain’t illegal. Become stronger at avoiding the temptation. Practice mindfulness and keep things out of sight which lead you to have these thoughts. Spend more time at the gym or doing other physical activities.

Your sex drive won’t drop anytime soon, so it’s better you work on yourself for the medium-term. Avoiding social media, television, certain websites, etc. will all help in eliminating the desire for sex. You can self-release once a week and be disciplined about it like other things in life.

America was founded as a Christian country. Prostitution was made illegal because it is sinful behavior.

No one can say it is upright, wonderful, community building behavior. It attracts criminal behavior (pimping, drug use, theft, violence). It brings neighborhoods down.
