As if it wasn’t bad enough that this woman only got a few years for killing the child’s father (she could be out in early 2019 FFS!), she now wants the now fatherless kid to be in jail with her. ARTICLE – Victorian mother seeks to raise son behind bars

To quote the article –

“A Victorian mother found guilty of the manslaughter of the father of her child is seeking to have her 22-month-old son live with her in prison.

The toddler is currently living with his paternal grandparents who say the child is thriving.

They are also caring for his older brother.

The boy’s grandfather said prison is no place for a child.

“I don’t know what kind of a life it would be for him in prison,” he told The Herald Sun.

“What sort of life is it for a 22-month-old?”

The grandparents, both in their 60s, say prison is no place for a child and that the young boy should be outside where he can play with children his own age.

The mother says the bond between them will strengthen if her son lives with her in prison.

The woman has been incarcerated for around a year at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre in outer Melbourne.

The facility is one of two where Corrections Victoria’s Mothers and Children Program is available. The program aims to foster the mother-child relationship during incarceration.

Mothers who have their children living with them in prison are housed in special accommodation with a full time support worker monitoring the child’s wellbeing.

The mother is due to be released in about a year“

The only thing that has prevented me from going full on Bodhi (original Point Break movie) has been the fear of not having my toy breed warrior dog with me if I got caught robbing banks.
