At least they didn’t have tattoos. Some of these women are curvy, but not as fat as that Cosmopolitan cover.

Times have changed and not entirely for the better.

Only car available here at that time would have been 1914 Model T Ford
20 HP with top speed of about 40 mph, and only dirt roads to travel on
impassible when it rains, travel would take me many days or even weeks
2400 miles .. round trip to New Orleans from here

In 19th century New York City, sex was for sale and it wasn’t hard to find it. Commodified sex was everywhere and available for any price. The years between roughly 1850 to about 1910 were the years that commercialized sex and vice in New York City were the most visible, the most prolific, and the most wild.

Then women got the vote in 1920. Any coincidence? We have truly been matriarchy since 1920. Men should be the protected gender from bullying by females.

Selling Sex: 19th Century New York City Prostitution and Brothels

Sarah: All of this “vice” activity emerged with the rise of a phenomenon called the “sporting” culture. The “sporting men” or the rise of “sporting” culture began during the antebellum period and lasted into the Gilded Age. It was organized around numerous forms of gaming like horse racing, pugilism (boxing), rat baiting, c~~~fighting, and gambling. Blood sports pretty much. This subculture also promoted male aggressiveness, and sexual promiscuity.

They would have us think that prostitution is new by renaming it. Now it’s “human trafficking”. “Human trafficking” can mean any commodified sex as any penetrative sex is rape because women have no agency in a patriarchy.

I highly recommend the movie. I saw it last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of things I didn’t know about him/them.

This is my favorite Queen song.

The only thing I care about in NOLA is Cafe du Monde.

Donuts, not tarts. The video is interesting, but not enticing. Replace the pros with modern wymins and I’m gone before my cafe au lait is cooled in my belly.

I failed to realize in my youth that I was the prize. I was going to work. I was going to earn. Little did I realize that due to feminism, that no longer meant I had to share. Road soon, Desert after.

The title of this topic should be

    ‘Hourly Prostitutes In 1912’

Because they are all prostitutes. It’s just a matter of what the terms and conditions are and how the money is transferred.
