Maybe it doesn’t matter if you are single though, because you would have so much more disposable income to yourself that you can actually afford to play hard more, which goes along with working hard and you can still enjoy life in general because there is a balance. What do you guys think?

Depends,if you like it,work safe and move up to supervisor or get your own company going,I’d say thats a better deal than being a desk jockey(which is worse for your health) AND being surrounded by manginas and femnazi c~~~s all day.

Working some kinds of construction will wear you out quick. It took me less than a year to damage a shoulder. Some men are more durable than others, use you mind, not your back. A years worth of work and you hurt for life. Not a good trade.

As a full-time job it’s rough. My dad did it and he was physically healthy, but drank a lot to deal with aches and pains. Ending up dying of cancer at 60.

If you’re doing it part-time or working on your own home/rentals then it’s a good way to stay in shape. You need another career option as you get older though if you want to do it as a full-time career.

It all depends on the construction job you choose. Different fields in construction are definitely made for a young man and can only be done for X number of years. Trades like framing, roofing, steel workers, those are just the few that come to mind. Those trades will ruin your back, your knees, you’re exposed to the sun all day long risking skin cancer and other dermatology problems. And then the obvious risks of falling from multiple floors to your demise and that’s if you’re lucky. You could fall and not die which could be and usually is worse.
I’ve been an electrician for more than half my life. I’m 51 and I started learning the trade at 19 years old. You can work as an electrician until you hit retirement age if you don’t get killed by electrocution or lose your fingers or hands or arms, or be burned from head to toe from a flash when something bad happens due to carelessness and bad workmanship from some lazy or untrained and unskilled handyman.
Other than a few aches and pains from being on a ladder for hours or if you do residential service, crawling under houses or in attics does get harder as you get older but that’s what helpers and apprentices are for. Lol
I got smart and started my own contracting business four years ago, after 17 years as a journeyman in the Union and six years as an apprentice, three years as a warehouse foreman and one year as a driver for what was the biggest and best union electrical contractor west of the Rockies.
30 or so years and I’m still in the field working with tools crawling, climbing, pulling wire and bending conduit. It keeps me in shape. You can also be a painter if you like to get high, hahaha you could be a finish carpenter or specialize in stairs or doors or windows you can be a plumber or tile setter, or HVAC (air conditioning) tech or voice and data installer. Every trade has it’s hazards but so does just walking on a job site. But, sitting in front of a computer screen under fluorescent lighting all day listening to phones ringing and having your legs fall asleep from sitting on your ass or getting secretary butt (widening of the hips from sitting all day for years) or getting migranes from listening to that bitch of a supervisor yapping all day long about nothing that has to do with her job. That will kill you young. Hahahaha
