Private Messaging feature on smartphone?

Please how do I access the PM feature from my smartphone?

I’ve never used it before.
Do I have to follow the person I intend to message?

Note: I’m not an upgraded member.

Should be no different.
If you can initiate, and have permission, visiting a member profile will reveal a “MESSAGE” button.

If you’re not upgraded it’s no problem. When the other person initiates, you can respond up to 3 times a day for a quick exchange – of an email or whatever. This is only to prevent established members from being spammed /initiated by PMs from new members.

No. But depending on their own privacy settings, they may not allow anyone they are not following to PM them. It’s not personal or anything. Even if you have permission, some don’t want to be messaged. The “upgrades” are mostly for more control and privacy and the ability to “stealth”.

Member tiers were created for this reason. Extended permissions and individual control.

It’s a constant work in progress but the current set up is pretty tight and serving well. Features were requested by members over time ( we take requests very seriously and enthusiastically ) so it takes a while to implement. And if you ever need to PM , you can also ask us to PING the other member for you and we’ll have them initiate a chat with you.

Another question(s):

Someone just PMed me and stated that there’s a “yellow message button”. I can’t seem to find such button on anyone’s profile.

Is that button absent on the mobile version?

If such is the case, how do I go about asking you to ping the member I want to chat with?

Just use the contact form anytime and say “hey it’s Akanbi …. can you tell X member to PM me?” And we’ll do it the next time an admin is available. By email and PM. Just don’t do it at 4AM and expect a word back right away. Thats’ all.
