What do you brothers here think of prepping?

While I was a blue pilled I thought of our world through a different lens. Now – its almost a 180 degrees.

I am not a proponent nor do I fantasize about some armageddon or SHTF scenario – but the volatility is apparent in the west through the moral decay and other nations embroiled in conflict and war.

Please share your thoughts on it.

Take what you need. Think small. Think mobile.

The point of prepping for a collapse or disaster is you take what you think you need and be mobile. What you need to survive, defend yourself, and trade with.

By small and mobile, and RV is small, a fifth-wheel might be better because if you engine dies you can swap out trucks more easily than an RV engine.

One down side to this is this does not prep for nuclear war. But, in many cases you might not want to survive a nuclear war.

In my initial state I cared, now I don’t prep at all, if SHTF I will just go ape s~~~ crazy, that will get me killed but I don’t care.

I do have a bit of stashed gold.

Nothing else.

I’ve been prepping for years, food, water, secondary sources, weapons ammo and a fortified redoubt out in the country.

I pray for a total collapse/Armageddon every day I can’t wait. Why you ask? Simple the inevitable result of such an event will be war and what is war if not the ultimate instrument of justice. And if ever there was a society in need of justice it is ours.

Advice—don’t think small UNLESS you are planning on leaving where you are and going to a place like mine. Otherwise fortify a place for yourself.

I’ve heard stories of preppers renting multiple storage units in different areas.
If one is depleted/compromised, they have others to fall back on.

That being said. Do not fortify your home if you live near people. Because when TSHTF, people will likely come to raid the one house in the area with running lights. And no matter how many guns you have, you cannot stay awake all the time, and you cannot control all entry points by yourself when you are surrounded.

Build your bunker in a rural area, and make sure you have a path that to the bunker which does not require bridges, nor highways to get to your bunker, because when the TSHTF you will likely need to take the back roads to reach that bunker.

It goes without saying to keep your bunker a secret.

Like nearly all things in life, it’s a useful mindset and activity which a few people take to insane extremes.

There’s prepping and then there’s PREPPING!!!!!!!!.

There’s a great difference between having a kit in your car, having stores at home, and generally being prepared for emergencies and building a hidden bunker in the woods.

Edit: There are a number of blogs and other memoirs written by people who lived through SHTF periods in the former Yugoslavia and Argentina. IIRC, the Argentine materials almost solely focus on urban and semi-urban survival through what was a near total multi-year economic collapse.

It seems counter-intuitive but specie like gold and silver is of little help because it’s purchasing power is too great. No one with canned goods is going to take gold in payment because A) the amount of goods purchased would be huge and B) they are going to be hard pressed to use the gold for something else in return.

Instead, goods and skilled labor are more reliable “currencies”.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

I have a place in the wilderness for thermal nuclear and a fortified home in the sticks. I paid off credit and debt, buying silver and just started buying beans an rice to be locked in airtight drums purged with argon. I have inexhaustible potable water in both places.

When the system collapses the starvation and cannibalism begins, but no problem, cannibals are starving, weak, and easy to kill! BY THE HUNDREDS!

I used a grab/bug out bag in Iraq & Afghanistan as a contractor. Apart from LOTS of spare ammunition, I had stuff in there that I reckoned could keep me in a survival situation for up to 48 hrs. Obviously in the summer period the requirement for more water dropped that to 24 hrs.

I kept a small rudimentary survival tin after coming home and I still throw it in a gym bag or in the car, out of habit. Its one of those just bigger than palm sized pelican cases. Inside are all weather matches, fire steel, cable saw, foil emergency blanket, whistle, signalling mirror and water puri tabs.

That’s as far as I go for prepping, but it is a serious issue, and I always feel that those much maligned super preppers will have the last laugh on the rest of us one day.

Because if the electric goes off for even 7 days, then expect collapse, two weeks and there’ll be gangs of murderously starving youths kicking down your back door looking for your last can of beans.

Hell, give me total control of TV remotes and the web and I’ll have formerly good neighbours putting bullets into the backs of each other’s heads in 24 hrs.

Civilization is a thin veneer over the most savage species to have infected God’s good earth. I should really do more prepping.

Indeed.

I mean to set myself up to live independently as far as possible.
The most likely scenario here in Aus is invasion by Indonesia.
I’m hoping I can just stay out of the way.

Silver is priced at about $16/ounce, so it would be workable as a medium of exchange for perhaps cans of soup. Gold is about 76X as expensive as silver, so that would be more relevant as a medium of exchange when things have settled down and there is some order restored.

I was prepping long before I was red-pilled regarding women. I was red-pilled on “civilization” first. After experiencing enough red pills with women, I started connecting the dots to my previous views on Western society and collapse.

At least SOME level of prepping is wise, no matter what, considering Hurricanes Sandy and Katrina. (women were selling their pussy for gasoline to escape Hurricane Sandy area after just 3 days)

I’ve focused on food growing and defense, and now I’m focusing on water purification and radiation countermeasures.
